Great review! I own this watch. It's the newest one of a few in this kind of form factor (mini phone/large screen), and by far this one is the best. I've owned them all. This one outta the box has a few more challenges than the other ones did, but once you add whatever apps to customize it in the way you want, it works well. It also solved some of the challenges that the others had, as well as better performance. I literally use it as my main phone when I'm outta the house. A couple things to keep in mind that will make your experience better with this device. #1 turn off the background cleaner. Go to settings > battery > switch off intelligent cleaning. Once turned off you can click on intelligent cleaning again to enter the setting, and individually set which apps you want to be cleaned in the background (will help for running some apps correctly). #2 get a good screen orientation lock app. #3 replace most stock apps. You will want to find better apps for phone, browser, and messaging, for example. The stock apps work, but not well. #4 Netflix and Prime from the app store won't work on this watch. The fix for this is to go into your browser, search "older versions of.....", Download oldest versions you can find, as older versions do not have device restrictions. (Must allow downloads from unknown sources in settings first). #4 You'll need a better camera app. Not all apps will work as the camera orientation and the way it's set up is not compatible with all camera apps. I suggest "open camera" as a replacement camera app. *Some suggested apps - control screen orientation - floating apps - navigation bar - full screen caller id - messaging (Google) - photos (Google) Thanks for covering this watch. It's a cool little device.
It won't let me use the assistant. It tells me I have to update the Google app, but when I open it up in the play store it says this app is not compatible with this device, and there's no button to update it. Do you know anything I can do about this?
@@DrMathOfficial I'm sorry that's not working for you. To honest, I personally don't use the voice assistant, as I find them a little annoying and intrusive, so I actually had to look into it a bit. And unfortunately, I'm not sure. I wish I could be of some help, but when I looked to see if mine was working and had the same issue, mine was working fine. I even looked in the app store and I didn't see the incompatible notice. I have seen it on other apps. So, I'm thinking the app on your device is malfunctioning. I'm not sure what the fix is, as I don't think it will let you uninstall it to reinstall it. Maybe trying something like my Netflix fix may help. Side loading an older version, or a different version of the app may overwrite the current inactive version an get it working again, but I'm really not sure. Again, I wish I could be more help. Maybe updating the firmware might help, if it updates.
I enjoyed this review. It was fun seeing you slowly become pleasantly surprised by the watch. Regarding the looks, nerdy stuff is way more accepted nowadays and even sought after. I'd imagine wearing it would get you looks but I don't think it would be in a negative way. The watch kind of reminds me of the 2021 version of those calculator watches people used to wear.
Cool review, I just picked up this watch last week. Took me a few days of playing around with it, but plugging it into your computer via USB, you have to go back to the watch and it gives you choices for charging only or file transfer. I'm using Linux, have not tried it on Windows. I'm still finding things out about it, but I like it.

Bro, you are supposed to wear the watch on your left wrist, that's why it felt odd to wear it that way. Thank you for your review tho. Great job. Im subbing!!
thank you for making this video, all of the reviews on shopping sites are like 1-3 stars but have no description, and every other video i've watched didn't go into detail about it. probably going to buy this watch
Kind of a perfect off-roading/camping smartwatch. Get that "Backwoods" app, use the GPS and 4g while you can, charge it while you sleep, hit the trails with a decent sized wrist map though no IPS ratings on any of the 20 watches I've seen.
Can this smartwatch receive&make calls & text messages without a nano sim card or can i just pair it with my phone via Bluetooth for it to work...an what app should i download similar to DA FIT app???in the Google store
Maaaaan Your Funny and amazing. Man you had me smiling and laughing. But I do want this watch and I'm gonna get it to. You took the words out my mouth, it's a mini phone on your rist and it's amazing to. Best smart watch to this day. Your amazing my guy 🤭🤣🤣 great review! & Thanks for WATCHING! ⌚ 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Gotta love this guy!
You’ve still got the plastic screen film on the watch face if you peeled it off it would be much clearer. On the Apple Watch the speaker and mic are so clear that you don’t need to hold it up to your ear to hold a conversation. It’s a shame the speaker is so quiet on this watch
I was watching vids and seeking for a new phone to increase my efectiveness in work, a focus phone (yes, I'm a asperger person), and I think that I found the one that I need, thanks for the review. The bad of the phone can be solved with earbuds.
I own an Lokmat appllp max smartwatch. What i have experienced during two months of usage, is bugs. The weather app doesn't work most of the times, which is caused by broken servers in China. The face unlock doesn't work, and is completely useless. I don't understand why Lokmat addresses this issues, and makes a patch update or firmware update for this watch??? At this moment, i don't recommend this smartwatch, due to the known issues.
I just brought one and people are 50/50 with this. I got the new one 4g 64gb 9.0 just because it was new. I guess I'm have decided for myself but I just want to play games and watch TV. On the good I can send back in 30 days if need be.
Well people where having fun two years about big phones, now look around. + you have a map, translator etc on your wrist ++++++++ I just might get one. Who the hell cares about lag? UUh i could watch my forklift cam through that at work.
hello, I have this watch, not bad, but far from optimal, the rotation of applications even with an application it blocks the watch at startup, I swear, no software updates, but still a good product for the pric
@@Invictus_Mithra There's a ton you can do to minimize it, just giving in isn't a great solution imo. Notice he didn't connect his phone, used a prepaid SIM, a throwaway Google Account, and a controlled Wi-Fi network for testing? Wasn't trying to start anything, just commenting.
