Thanks for taking one for the team and giving us the real info about why we should not buy this. I hope that LOKMAT or whomever manufactures this watch, makes your suggested changes.
The same thing happened to me, but I found a solution for the following: launcher background apps notifications photo background notification as you said, can't set apps to background, every time screen is suspended i think they close BUT, if you use an always on amoled app, that prevents apps from closing, 2 as the device has android go and not android, I think you can only have up to 8 apps open in the background if they won't close and for this you can use app cleaners the rotation is fixed with the rotation control app The wallpaper can be customized, there is a default background that allows you to add a custom image Notifications can't be shown unless you root it, but without root, you can set custom sounds for each app and each action like sending message or comment. The only bad thing I see is that when you start the watch you must open all the apps that allow it to work well.
Thanks for the info. Unfortunately, my DM100 smartwatch's mobile data doesn't work because of the automatic subscription. I tried to replace the SIM card with a new one, still didn't work. Factory reset it, still didn't work. I reset network settings, but decided to leave it alone. And the smartwatch strap is broken, but attached. The only alternative I can get is the APPLLP MAX, which I think seems bad, but there's no other option. 🙁 Atleast it's a better smartwatch
I don't know when there will be a new model. It used to be that a new model came out every year. But since COVID, there doesn't seem to be any new full Android smartwatches with big screens.
Can you use it as a wireless hotspot? If so, I can use it for just telephony and basic smart watch functions, and a separate device such as a tablet, for more fancy things (like games, youtube, whatsapp)?
On Lemfo Lem T smart watch how to install other Watch Faces? Is it possible to install Android 9 or higher without the Clock deconfiguring or losing its functions?
Good review and agree about the launcher and the weather. I have a couple of these I use my own SIM card so it runs independently. Background tasks too is a bad point as you say. However, this is the best so far in terms of comfort and durability. I have taken it into shower to receive calls and no problems! I have had many watches like this and I think if they allow a full Android screen interface, such as the Neptune Pine, which I still own many, this would be a killer watch. I used to have the tiny standalone rectangular ones from the start and all had a proper Android interface. Comfy strap easily replaced is also good on this. But thanks.
Hi Marcus, Jason has been talking about some software issues and system updates of these watch. Do they seem to be resolved by the time, or not? I want to know if those are "abandoned", or not yet
@@peterpagac8607 the watch, along with the LEMFO T are still the best, but there's been no update for any watch. I followed the video on installing Nova Launcher but that doesn't work. That said, I still use the watch everyday and is better than an Apple or Samsung watch.
@@marcusoroberts thank you for a very quick response. I have noticed you are using it with a SIM card, how long does it last? Also, what is your screen time? (when the screen is on, not just idle / dark). Also if you could tell me how good your signal is and whether it is 4G, 3G, or 2G. As far as I know the signal strength and generation might affect the battery life, so thats why I am asking. I am interested in buying such a watch for daily use, as I want to lower my use of social media (by making it uncomfy to use them), but I still have to be accessible due to my job. Is writing e-mails or longer texts comfy on such a small keyboard (compared to phone), or does it also have some voice input capability? Also sorry for my english, its not my native language. Im trying my best.
@@peterpagac8607 no problems. It's 4G and 3G when that's not available. I use it for calls and social media everyday and I guess the battery would last around 3 or 4 days, but I recharge every night. I also have another phone for serious work, but for the money I'm happy with this watch. As I say, it's much better than anything else currently. It doesn't have NFC, but I use a NFC ring from McLear ring for payments.
Hi Jason! QQ I saw a post on XDA developers by someone who was able to change the android on this watch to A12 using Corvus OS, would that make it a little better? Just a little curious since some of the problems (background apps closing and not being able to change the launcher) could be solved that way? Thanks for the videos!
Hi, sorry to reply to such a late comment, but I was wondering if you still had the link for this forum post handy? I've been trying to find it but have come up short. My apologies to bother you with this
I had brought that watch and the power button broke two days off having it I ended up getting another ticwris max 2.8 still love the screen size and functionality of it
Is there an invisible energy blocker that prevents you from googling "S999 android 12" ? Guide is on "Full Android Watches" forum. Sad part is that It's a painfull process to update it @@Daylin821
Enjoy your videos on smart watches had an issue with a DM 100 it is now on a overlay screen that I do not have access to swipe the watch to try to get it off and the scan code for the watch is no longer in my phone help please if possible Overlay is a developer's option need to turn it off so I can have access to the DM 100 fully thank you for your time continue to make great videos
As a LEMFO LEMT owner for 3 years, the APPLLP smartwatch is a far superior model in every way from Ticwris and LEMFO. I for one will be placing an order for the APPLLP watch. If you are tech savvy, then customizing the watch should be a breeze than a average user. So in my opinion, the APPLLP is a watch to buy.
Hi Jason Can you help me to decide which one do I buy the ticwris max or the ticwris max s I'd be happy if you help me because I don't want to waste money
They are both solid watches. I think the key difference is the size. If you have a bigger wrist you may want to go with the MAX or if you have a smaller wrist you may want the MAX S. Again, they are both good watches.
Good question, I'm not sure. But it does have a sim tray and you should be able to see in the vendor's advertising which cellular bands it supports. However, do not buy this watch, buy the LEMFO LEM T if you need a good big screen watch.
Thank you Jason for this wonderful review like always! I heard from another reviewer you can turn off the intelligent clean under the battery settings- it will disable the battery saver and allow the background app keep running after black screen. Can you please confirm if this is true?
Yes, Evan, there is a setting for Intelligent Clean. I had the setting turned off during my testing and I was still unable to get my launcher to stay running after black screen.
Hello sir, What smartwatch would you recommend if im looking for a standalone smartwatch that can make and recieve calls plus send and recieve whatsapp messages? Appreciate your hard work
@@JasonJ1968 I convinced AliExpress to refund the watch because it does not function properly (re: nova Launcher).. and ordered my second LEMT... The strap on my original LEMT is held together by super glue..
Its a shame that its sucks because its superior in specs than the ticwris max so the ticwris max (Because i think that the ticwris max is the most powerful big screen smartwatch please let me know if im wrong that there is a superior big screen smartwatch that isnt the appllp max) is the way to go until someone makes a big screen smartwatch that is superior than the ticwris max in every way and doesn't suck
I literally wasted my money on this watch bc some RU-vidrs made it look completely customizable like android should be . But this is just sad bc its capable but stuck with these dumb limitations that make all that useless smh . 250 down the dumps
