It would be great if captions were available on this video since one of the disabilities is deafness.

Hello, If my wife’s disability was approved for her Maryland Teachers pension does she have a good chance of getting approved for SSDI the first time around? Thanks for any information

Hi Daniel, our office only assists clients who are filing for Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) benefits. I would reach out to Social Security for more information on DAC.

What happens when you recieve unemployment during covid while Disability application is going through its approval process and you recieve a lump sum from SSDI for the time you were getting unemployment?
@CitizensDisability
@CitizensDisability 3 года назад
Hi Umair! Unemployment may affect the amount of Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) benefits you are entitled to. You should contact Social Security and report all unemployment or other benefits you receive.

How does 100% VA help
@CitizensDisability
@CitizensDisability 3 года назад
Hi James! The VA and Social Security have different rules when it comes to disability. It is possible that a 100% disability determination from the VA could help, but there are no guarantees. At the very least, a 100% disability determination from the VA may help your Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) claim be expedited.

I was diagnosed with an eye disease that has left me legally blind for over 20 years. My vision gets worse each year. I have been working tho up until my place of work closed in March of 2020. Haven't worked since. I was at my last employer for 14 years and though I couldn't read what was on a computer, I memorized where things on the computer were. I have been working in restaurants and my vision has gone down over the years. Can no longer recognize faces or read IDs. I did put March of 2020 as the onset as that is when I stopped working but it is something I have lived with for over 20 years . So I inluded paperwork from the Dr from 20 years ago and went recently for a check up but since there is no treatment, I don't go to a Dr regularly. Not sure if there is anything I should add or change in my application ? I am currently at the state determination level

@@CitizensDisability Due to legal blindness, I haven't had a great job and was told that getting representation would be hard since they would not be compensated as much
