I normally don’t comment on RU-vid videos unless I see something that disturbs me to the point where I gotta let people know the dangers of something they’re doing and what I’m seeing with this polymeric sand you’re laying down it’s not good and what I mean is you guys are breathing this stuff in the whole time without any mask respirator or anything man? This stuff is extremely bad for your lungs in your health. Please wear a respirator and if you get a chance to read the label on the back of the polymeric sand, where it says warning and have a bless day.
Thank you for making this video! Not a criticism, but an observation; have a look at the difference between your posture and Neighbour Bob’s posture as you’re working. He keeps his back much more upright, even when doing the same job that you were (broom and tamping). He used his arms (safer) where you used your lower back (riskier). Being aware of your lower back posture during extended amounts of repetitive work and staying more vertical through your lumbar region can help reduce the risk of herniating a spinal disc. Unfortunately, I know this from personal experience!
Immature post. People die from lung disease. Some of those people leave friends and family never to be seen again. Somehow you can make a wise crack of it.
I just commented about the danger as well to this stuff is bad news guys. This is the kind of shit where you wake up 10 years from now and you got cancer and your looking back having to realize that it could’ve been prevented. Please guys wear a respirator next time they’re not expensive. It will save your life.
I just purchased the exact same polymeric sand- and I do have a question. I just power washed my patio yesterday and wanted to lay the sand down today BUt they call for rain so I did not. But my question is this- after laying down the sand and brushing it and then blowing it- where will the excess sand go? My driveway starts where the patio ends to the side and I don't want to blow the sand onto my driveway and then have to blow it into the street? Am I being crazy here? Also what if it rains later in the day like a Thunderstorm( that could be a lot of water?? As mentioned I powerwashed yesterdayand there are many spaces now that I want to fil in soon but it seems that thundershowers are foreca`st for the next couple of days?? Any advice. Thank you.
nice video guys. how many sq ft did one bucket cover for you? I have a 40 lb bucket of polymeric sand and I'm working with a 50 sq ft area with normal size bricks.
For this product it’s very quick. After hitting it for the first time for 30 seconds, it says to only wait a few seconds (5-10) and then hit it for another 30. Hope this helps and great question!
When the sand goes/blows onto adjacent areas (like the grass next to the pavers)...what keeps it from hardening in those various places (when it inevitably gets wet)?
The power washing should remove any of the existing sand that is loose and as long as you take the time to tamp it so it levels the blocks out you should be good to go. Hope this makes sense.
You know, you should edit yourself. So many fuddled up words in your narrative The accent is also truly off putting. I'm guessing this is maybe the 2nd time you've ever done this. Another example of the internet run amok.
I guess you now know why HGTV isn’t calling me lol. If you think this one’s bad don’t watch my early videos! I look back and wonder what the heck I was thinking 🤦. As I get use to talking more to a camera or into a mic fingers crossed it gets better. Hopefully, the information is good, thanks for watching and sharing. Always appreciate feedback, it’s the only way to get better!
@@BusyBeeLiving, not sure why you explained yourself to that guy. There’s a reason why it’s called “You”Tube. I found your video because I was looking for method to compact without machine. Your information was helpful and I appreciate it.
You sound just like Neighbor Bob correcting me the entire time we were doing this lol. I told him we need a longer handle, which prompted him to come over and prove we didn’t 🤷♂️.
Yeah that's going to be way more than needed. I had a total of about 600 sqft (325 on the main pad and 275 on the walkway) and used 2 of these buckets.
I'm redoing our 16-1/2 year old patio. I've thoroughly power washed it, used a cleaner, power rinsed that off, and applied a polymeric sand before watering it to activate the polymer. Ques: How long do I wait to seal it? Is 24 hours enough?
You just want to make sure that the sand has had time to completely dry. This depends on your environment. I didn’t not seal mine, but neighbor Bob did on his and it was after 2 days during the summer months with no issues.
I bet you could get 2 of those tampers and rig up a lever joint so that when you pull in one direction, one tamper goes up, then pull in the other direction it lowers so it stomps down. It would resemble a soldier marching in place. If it could work you wouldn't need to lift a tamper repeatedly. It's still muscle powered, but at least not by your back. It would look something like this: ...../| |..●.| |/....| |.....■ ■..... |\.... |.●.| |...\| ■...| .....■ I like to tinker with wood and i think i could do it, but it would have to be metal to last. No noise pollution or back pain.
A small plate compactor with a rubber pad or a rolling compactor 99% won’t damage paver, especially of this size. Compacting helps with filling voids that will show when watering if not and also in solidifying your patio into your paver bedding.
