This is amazing stuff, full respect to anyone doing this. I'm a Brit and work mostly with concrete, bridges and roadworks mainly. Why is it that you guys dont use cherry pickers and scissor lifts for this trype of work?
What's the process like getting an apprenticeship? How long does it take from applying to getting in learning and working? Is it competitive or pretty easy to get accepted? Thanks
No reason to train without the belt when in actual work you'll be hauling all that shit with you all day long. Besides it's not about how fast you get up there. It's how consistent you can climb safely.
Well good luck son its a good job..things seem to sure have changed since I first climbed up...does anyone call the young guys or say things like "hey dumbass get your column climbing monkey ass up there" "you drop a damn thing that spud wrench'll be up your ass" "for petes sake column monkey if ya so dumb to fall , fall to the inside it ain't as messy" ? Last old buddy that retired said he was supposed to tell his guys they had to talk nice to the newbies..
