I’ve watched a lot of Aprex nail videos and I must say.. This one is one of the best very detailed videos I’ve seen. Great video! I just tried them for the first time, wish I would’ve seen this before I did my video lol.
I may be wrong but I think you are also using the Chaun Legend style Apres coffin nail tips with the tighter C curve. I wasn't sure if they would be harder than the sculpted style which I use but after watching your video I think I can do it.
Hi Jessica I had a question regarding the GelX tips . Would it be possible if I polish my nail tips with gel polish or regular polish and decorate the gel tips then, apply the tips unto my natural nails and do the process will the tip cure thru the polish ?
omg thank you, always afraid to try new things and had no clue with the glitter and now i do, seems simple, hopefully i can get the hang of it. love the nails
I am getting seriously annoyed with this system already, help!! I am following every step to the letter, but the nails aren't sticking on?! I'm using the little lamp that came with the kit 😑
Have you tried applying a thin layer of extend gel on your natural nail before applying the nail? Also make sure not to get bubbles. Also biggest advice be patient, practice as much as you can always try something different. With time I promise you will master it!
Hi. Thank you for the video. So I guess you don’t need to put a base coat on before applying polish on these type of nails. Just buffed them down. Correct?
Help! My apres nails are snapping off after just 1 day. The actual gel base stays on my nail but just the nail comes off. Is it that I’m not filing good enough, the nail tip?
Do you remember what sizes you use. I’m trying to see if I should have used my regular size or because these are tapered should I go up a size for each finger?
Do you feel like if you don’t really have sculpted nail beds it’s harder to apply these? I just got the kit in the mail and feel like they won’t fit too well 😢
Or use makarrt clear polygel to apply. Femi beauty has a new video demonstrating it. Its called the lazygirl method. Way easier to apply and lasts forever. It also is nice to build up an apex under the nail for that sculpted look for flatter nailbeds.
Gorgeous! I'm thinking of buying this system. I stopped getting acrylics after Quarantine and the Kiss nails keep breaking on me. Question, are the Apres strong?
@@jessicawrightnails3086 Thank you for replying! Girl, I've asked other people if they were rigid and they never answered, wth?! lol anyway thank you so much again, I am going to buy tomorrow! And binge on your videos 😊 Oh have you used the Kiara Sky? These Apres just " look" better to me but I could be wrong.
@@jessicawrightnails3086 Well I'm sold on the Apres, I like their packaging and I'm a packaging hoe 😁 Ugh one more question, I'm sorry! In regards to the sculptured vs regular.. My nails are on the flat side, do you advise to stick to regular or sculpted wouldn't be a problem. You're probably thinking, damn b**"h another question?! 🥴
Petra B lol girl not at all I don’t mind the questions! So for flat nails I recommend the regular tips, you can use the sculpted you just have to make sure that you are applying more of the extend gel to prevent them from lifting ☺️
Jessica Wright Nails Thank you for answering so fast.....the led light would not cause premature hardening of the gel? And after smoking off the nails can you save the acetone and reuse it? I just am unable to purchase large amounts of it. That is why I ask. Also would like to say thank you for the best video I have seen so far,and I’ve seen a lot.
@@debjukes5548 The light will not cause premature hardening, it doesn’t have the same watts that an LED nail lamp does. And as far as the acetone you can’t re use it, it won’t work the same. & thank you so much for watching and of course the feedback 💖🙏🏼
With the dehydrator method, do you find they last as long as the efile method? I hate prepping the tips during the service. it takes foreverrrr lol Great video
Jessica Wright Nails thank you! Also I’m afraid to encapsulate an all glitter nail do you think it’ll still cure even if the glitter covers the entire nail from your experience does it fully cure ?
So you need to buy the UV light, oh bonder, and gel tip adhesive? I would love to be able to do my own nails but i gotta make sure i have all the right things 😭
Yes I recommend the kit , I got the Kiara sky gelly tips kit it's very similar to apres, come w eveything you need besides drill & it actually lasts a while especially if just doing your own
Alora Alvarado You don’t necessarily have to, you can if you want to. I only use a base coat if I’m applying directly on the natural nail so it won’t stain it. ☺️
hey girly , how do you keep the extend gel from squeezing out when you press and hold onto it ? mine always oozes out from the sides and cuticle and once I cure it hardens really hard
Cassandra Chavez Try applying less of the extend gel, just enough to when you press down it spreads out evenly and were you don’t have to apply much pressure. If it still happens use alcohol and I brush to wipe whatever came out then cure under the lamp, hope this helps 😊
Can someone please help me I can't find the gel that she uses to make the fake nail stick to the real nail.. what is the name of it where can I buy it? Thanks in advance
@@jessicawrightnails3086 I love this video . I found doing my own nails meditating 🧘♀️ but I can't get them to last that long. But I'm still having fun lol ! Great video
I know you didn't ask me but Aimeli polishes are good and cheap, some come in sets and end up being a bargain, people mention modelones but I've only tried the glitter gel pots.
Great video! I am a DIYer and I've been doing my nails with Apres for about a year now. I need to use a different light that's clipped to my desk though but my biggest struggle is getting them on STRAIGHT! It never fails, I end up having to redo at least one nail. Do you know what I mean? I don't hear anyone mentioning that in videos. Do you have any suggestions to help me with that?
kel kel I have that problem with my non dominant hand, I’ll usually ask my husband if he could help me hold the nail in place while I hold the lamp usually if you have someone doing it for you they can see at a better angle. Also Before you cure under the lamp try holding in place making sure it doesn’t move and hold it also when you are curing under the lamp. Hope this helps! ❤️
I find it much easier to get them straight when I'm using Polygel/Acrygel to adhere them instead of builder gel. Because the polygel is so thick it holds the nail in place for you without having to hold the tip down. So just apply it and adjust it so it's straight and cure as normal, soo much easier! 😃🥰
Linn Högberg and then just efile them off! Sound a lot easier. I didn’t realize I could get strong adhesion using poly gel and the gel together. I’m going to try this method today. Do I need to rough up the gel tips more so they adhere well to the polygel? I don’t want any coming off.
@@dairyist yeah depending on what polygel you use, some polygels are soak off 😊 you just do as you normally would, the only difference is that you're using polygel instead of builder gel to adhere the tips. For me it holds better if I use primer on the inside of the tips to rough up and melt the surface instead of roughing it up with my e-file 😊
