I Do like the shorter length of the real tips , but I think I might be able to shorten from the cuticle end , so I won't lose the shape!?? Until I can afford the real ones , I have to make do , I can't have em too long . Maybe if I take a larger tip & cut the cuticle end with nail cutting tool and use it like a tip instead of full cover ? You are genius!! Thank you for your inspiration 😍♥️
I am so glad I saw this under suggested!!! I literally have all this!!! I really didn't want to spend $140 for the kit especially when I haven't been so lucky with with polygel and acrylics. This works so well!! I just put on a base gel, and I didn’t even rough up the my nail or the tip (no primer either) They have been holding for about five days now. My one mistake was I put to much gel on the first one and over cured and it got too tight and hurt. Soaked it off, redid it, then we we are good to go. They are light and comfortable!! I’m guessing because it it adhesive is the reason it is holding so well. Thanks so much!! I’m gonna try some of those Kiss French nails when I do my next set. See if the light will get through. I also found a little hack. I used one of my metal duck bill hair clips to hold the tip to flash cure.

Yes, but only to wipe the nail tips down after buffing. Because these tips are made with gel, they said it would bond the tip better. I only used one lint free wipe to wipe all nails. Alcohol ruins them, turns them white and cracks them. No idea why. Tfw 😘

I love this system! They last a good 3 weeks, no lifting, no breaking. I don’t think regular full tips would be strong enough. They are designed to have something over them for strength, i.e. acrylic, gel or acrygel. The Apres tips are strong and designed to not need an overlay.

Nailed by Nikki this system is for a quick set on special occasions,I’ve kept my set for 2weeks & ended up with a greenie.due to lifting!I purchased the original Apres gel x system,very disappointed with it. We all know it’s not a cheap system.i’m back to acrylics & now waiting on the Makartt polygel system to try something new & faster than doing acrylics.

Great hack! Oh, Jamie...could you try using polygel with these tips? Since the polygel is thicker, I’m thinking it might be even easier to use than a straight gel.
FYI. Those not lisenced can get protien bond on Amazon. Oh and if u make your own dehydrator you want to make sure the isopropyl alcohol is 99%.. I'm pretty sure she'll say that in her video but for those who didn't watch it and just heard her say that I thought I'd point that out.
Yes, true. I get mine from the Apres site. And I did get one from Amazon. Yeah, I learned how to make my own cleanser from the nail hub. I love it. It works as a dehydrator as well.

Ebay and Amazon has gel tips that are not by apres and are cheaper. They have a sample pack with their different shapes and lengths I am thinking of ordering. Also, can you cut these tips down if they are too long
I ordered the sample pack of the gel tips. They come with one of each size in each shape. The nails are very flimsy like plastic tips. I was expecting them to be strong. I am disappointed.

I have on hand done...with Amazon nails...still working on not letting the gel seep near cuticle. I will keep you posted on how long they stay on. My challenge is cuticle and shaping...if I can get these to hold up, I may have my issues solved. My Polygels look good for a day or so, but then the cuticle area starts to look lousy...I'm so new to this...a newborn in nails, really. Thank you so much or all your talent!

I don't think it would work with poly gel but it may. I've had others ask. Try it and let me know. Never heard of the Xtens. I only buy the tips. Not the whole kit. It's so pricey. Ty doll 😘
Really?!?!?! I'm trying to find out ways to stop clients lifting but we have major hot sticky weather in Ireland at the moment and it's difficult for peeps.
I'm still practicing on how much gel I apply to the tips. Lol. I always end up with ooze leaking out, flipping the finger, un-oozing the gel, tip sliding, cursing for a few minutes, starting over. 😂😂 Plus, my tips like to crack on me by day 2 of wearing them; the first time it was straight down the middle, second time at triangular chunk would break off. 😱😠 I can't remember if I used Makkart tips or Ebasket tips, or if I tried each brand for each set of nails. But, by all that's gelly and glittery, I'm not giving up; something will work for me. 👍🙏😂💪

I don’t have an efile or drill, do you think it would be easy for me to use the corner of a hand file to file the inside of the nail tips or do you have a different suggestion? I saw the comment about polygel I’ll have to try that because I have that but not the gel you have I still have to order.

Thanks. No, it doesn't have a bad odor. You can use any gel. Use a thick builder or builder in a bottle. Any gel works. I just like using thicker gels...tfw
Mine are pretty flat if you watched me put those on. You gotta find the one that fits from side wall to side wall and press down when applying the gel.

I don't think poly gel would work because remember when I used tips as a dual form? It popped right off after it cooled down. So I honestly think they would pop off eventually. Thanks 😘
I gotta say nail prep/dehydrator that u buy is cheap 6 bucks & it’s so much better than the nail prep you make I do both I use both I make some to clean up nails remove dust ,sanitize etc but for dehydrating & cleaning the nail plate right before application get the good stuff there’s a night & day difference.. enailcouture has there’s for 6 bucks & asp makes one that’ll last forever.. I wouldn’t be telling people to make stuff only because they might mix up god knows what & then somebody’s blaming you for a chemical burn or something just saying..
I got my dehydrator idea from the nail hub herself. She says it's the best to use. I used to use asp. Still have it. It does work great but since I've used the alcohol/acetone ratio it's worked even better. Tfw

Aww you’re so welcome. Yes, just make sure after you apply the nails, that you have a good cuticle or a nice 5n1 fine grit bit to clean up the side walls and cuticle area. I’ve got a few videos showing this. I did a prep like a pro not to long ago and I also have a short clip showing how on my newest melody Susie efile video I do believe. I need to make an updated video but I’ve been taking time off. Much needed. Good luck sweetie. You will get there. Oh the bits I use will also be in both those videos.

i did this but with the btartnails instead and it didn't work with the rhinestone glue :( I've tried it twice and it didn't work. i did use a different primer and ph bonder could that have been the issue? or was it the tips? could the company have changed their formula? do you have any tips to help me out?
This was the hack video huni. Plus the logo didn’t come on the Apres nails until they made the Vivid and Base Colored nails. Now they have a logo on the actual nail.
How does the dupe fake nails you recommended compare to Makart fake nails? I saw them recommended in YT also. Not sure which are better quality. Any ideas are tried then before??

@@CNT007. Yes, I agree Hun. The huge difference I have noticed is the real ones are made with real gel and hold up so much better. The durability is what's key to these. The fake ones break or bend so easy. I've had to fix 4 nails so far and when I did the video with the real ones, I went 6 weeks and filled them with no prob. I'll have Update soon. I've been sick. I wanted to buy that cuticle but but international shipping with them is so high! Maybe get it sent to a friends address and get it sent to me? How much shipping do U pay USA with nail hub drill bits? I use silcare Base one vitamin primer and I love no lifting what so ever and only £3 a bottle from there eBay store x

Thanks hun. You gotta hold and cure them or get some clamps. I have some coming but they are not here yet. These can be a real pain in the butt. Get you one of the flashlights for nails that I have linked in my latest few video's or turn lamp on before you apply the nail, then put it in lamp while holding. Good Luck.
Thank you for this video. I have been using Apres Gel X system mainly to replace broken nails. I do have a question. After a thin coat of gel is applied to the nail, should it be cured before placing the nail tip?
You can actually just add a base coat and cure that, then add the nail with the gel in the tip. Some people prefer to not cure but I always do. Thanks sweetheart

In my opinion, No and here's why. They are not sturdy enough. I am gonna be doing a 4 week update soon. They will bend easy if u hit your nail, it's also not made from real gel. But you can get a few great weeks wear out of them. Tfw 😘
For one, you let the drill work, no pressure. I was buffing my natural nail. That's all. I would never buff it to where it started to burn. And I used a fine sanding band. Tfw

I tried to buy individual refill packs of apres tips instead of even paying for 10 sizes that dont even all fit me, and i accidentally ordered four size zeros for $20😂:( i tried to cancel but their crappy policy doesnt allow you to cancel even before its shipped. also that kit is very overpriced. $150 for everything is obnoxious when you can buy it all individually.

Yes, just the Apres tips but I was saying you can use regular full nail tips. Yes, a bonder is a must have. It bonds the gel to the nail plate. Thanks 😊😘
