Hello Nigel great update 👍👍. Sad news about Wendy. It's difficult these days with RU-vid facebook etc you meet people online and never meet them in person but it's still a sad loss when they pass away. I hope you get some closure on this and find out. Take care

As you know Wendy's address you can at possibly at least check that you have the correct name by reference to the appropriarte electoral register for that area - often available in libraries.

Dear Nigel A couple of weeks ago, I watched another unboxing review. The reviewer concluded by stating that this kit is very straightforward and ideal for beginners! Nige, what about filing a missing-person report on Wendy at your local police station, listing down your fears that something terrible has likely happened to her and that you are concerned about her wellbeing? Would making an official report not compel the police to investigate and get you an answer? On a lighter note, I love the quirkiness of the Das Werk kit and am really glad you and Jeff are showing all the pitfalls in the build. Also, I am building the Revell 1/72 B-17F model and want to let you know that your tips on doing woodgrain with oil paints on plastic has worked a treat for me. 👍🏻👍🏻😀 Ending with a big hug for Jess.

Thanks for the update Nigel. Really sorry about the lack of news about Wendy. I guess there is not much you can do, short of driving to her home and local Police yourself. Crap about the Police response too. I assume you rang 101 and asked for her local force. When I have rung 101 in the past, someone has always answered. Someone drove into my HGV once on the A1, then did not leave room in the layby they pulled into for me to get in behind them. So, I was unable to stop and exchange details etc. There was no damage to my wagon apart from paint marks on my wheel nuts. When I got back to base we had to phone Cambridgeshire Police to report an accident where details had not been exchanged. They did answer and took our details. I never heard anything about it again.

Have you tried the Salvation Army in her area....they used to be great at locating missing persons..or worse!! I really hope she is OK.. like you say!

Living in Ontario, Canada, there are several online Canadian shops that are too far to visit in person but I support as much as I can. For a wider choice in aftermarket I have ordered from Sprue Brothers in the States. Weirdly, BNA Model World in Australia is a better source for the range, stock, price and shipping for me. Recently ordered from, Hannants because you and other UK modellers use them. Waiting for the order to arrive, if all goes well, will order from them again.

Very similar thing happened to me and an old friend that I only really knew online but was on the other side of the country stopped responding and they were always very quick to respond. Someone told me to google the local funeral homes. Literally the second funeral home I called looked up the name on their computer and said that they didn't administer the funeral but they gave me the number of the place that did in the next village. Bear in mind I didn't actually know he had passed, so it was quite shocking, but it definitely worked. They couldn't tell me much but took my number and said they would pass that on to the family and they would get in touch if they wished to. The closure was very important, it's worth doing.

Really really sad to hear about Wendy mate, She's always been a big contributor to your's and Sue's channels and extremely friendly towards everyone, even me all the way down in SA...I really really hope this turns out better than it sounds right now mate

Interesting comment on buying from overseas. Waiting on an Art Scale mask set. The sale went through on my card... then crickets. No tracking. No email query returns. More expensive to buy it from U.S. online retailer but at least I know its going to get to Canada, I can track it en route and they return my emails. Lesson potentially learned. Considering the B-17 guns issue, have you thought about seeing if there are any appropriately sized round beads you could thread onto the barrels? Just wondering... There are tons of sites with STL files for 3D printing but none have the balls included.

Hi Nigel, would it not be possible to google all the hospitals close to where Wendy lives, and enquire if they have or had a patient with her name recently? I’m unsure if they could disclose that information to a member of the public or not, but it may be worth a shot? Or maybe a funeral home, or God forbid, a cemetary?

Very sorry to hear of the tale of Wendy; the fact that a regular as clockwork communicator suddenly goes silent really leaves you no options. The only thing I can suggest is borderline ridiculous, get a private detective to track her down and update you. On other matters.... looking forward to seeing BM Lanc being operated on again, still waiting for your 'secret' project to break cover! And finally, Wingleader YT channel has seized on the popularity of the Dambusters quiz they did and now released one on the Spitfire, highly entertaining even though I scored a very ordinary 15/20 on it. I guess at the end of the day all you can hope is that wherever Wendy is she is free from pain.
