It’s funny you mention Goth Lit November because I have been planning for it myself 😂 I had a bit of carryover from last year, so I definitely plan on doing it again! On the Epic of Gilgamesh: Have you ever heard of ‘The Forest’ by David Byrne (of the Talking Heads)? It’s music he wrote inspired by Gilgamesh and it’s set during the Industrial Revolution. How cool is that? I was planning on talking about it in an upcoming video actually. It’s soooo beautiful, and I know you like orchestral stuff too 😊 one of my favorite albums!

Excellent! And no, I hadn’t heard of The Forest, but I’m looking it up immediately. That sounds so cool.

Ok, I’m back quickly to say I just started it and, for reasons I can’t explain, it reminds me immediately of Holst’s the Planets, so I’ll probably like it. I really need to learn to talk about music in even a slightly coherent way!

@@NicoleACottageWitch oh good, I’m glad you think you’re going to like it! I love David Byrne and everything he did with The Talking Heads … genius. And don’t worry; you’re fine! I feel inept myself sometimes because my partner is a professional musician and we talk about music a lot, but I’m familiar with some terms pertaining to classical music that he isn’t, and he doesn’t understand how it is I’ve read some of the books I’ve read (by Charles Rosen etc) because he wouldn’t be able to get through them lol

People have been sleeping on the myths of Scotland. I like knowing the Greek myths but I think prefer the Irish and Scottish I’ve read so far.
