I watched the episode of Red Table Talk when Cheslie’s parents shared her story. I was in the midst of severe depression and hopelessness. I don’t share with others when I’m in that state because it is too much bare it and share it. After their episode I sought help. Cheslie’s story made me realize I wanted to fight. I don’t want to leave a note like hers. It made me realize at least I wasn’t at that point so there was still some hope and I could try. I’m better now. Not 100, but not where I was. I think about her story often. I can’t wait to read her book. I hope Cheslie is shining and thriving in peace and love ✨✨

Coming from a person who’s suffered from clinical depression from teens to mid 40’s, sometimes there is NO ONE or NOTHING that can pull you out of this. People say talk but some are too far gone. There is not one day that goes by that I don’t think about taking my life. I hold on for my one and only child. But unless you have had that mind that goes off into wonderland whenever it wants you’ll never know. People let go for peace.I am NOT condoning suicide. I am expressing the mental pain of being ok one minute then feeling your mind slip in another minute and there’s no activity or person or thing that can steer you out that frustrating black hole. Or those days of feeling outside your body! Boy it’s a battle that no one deserves.

Really sad. I wonder if she was pressured to be perfect when she was younger. That part when her mom said she focused on that small part she didn’t get right. That’s someone who suffered from perfectionism, unfortunately. We have to reinforce to our children that failure is a part of life. That we cannot do everything with a 100% result. Everything that we struggle with goes right back to our childhood and I can bet that’s the genesis of her struggles in this regard. I can attest that, that all my adult struggles stem from childhood trauma or experiences. I will add however that depression is a whole e beast that sometimes has no answers as to why. Life is just a strange journey and unfortunately it gets too overwhelming for some people.

But if you doubt me, try watching all of her vids starting from her time as Miss USA all the way up to her final vid, and see what you think. There were allegations of cheating which led to their breakup, but I don't know how factual that is.🤷🏽‍♀️
@AlmondJoie
@AlmondJoie Месяц назад
@@StellaGibson-cm1hzI recall seeing a couple of photos of her online with an alleged exbf taken around the time of her reign as Miss USA (I don't know if their breakup preceded the end of her reign or if it came after). As for her being a lesbian, I consider that to be unfounded gossip, which sadly she's no longer here to confirm or deny. With that said, in light of the recent news about the two beauty queens and an executive who've stepped down within the Miss USA organization, I can't help but wonder if Cheslie dealt with any of the alleged same toxicity within the organization during her reign. It was well known how many haters dragged her after she won Miss USA and completed her reign, but no doubt all that negativity and vitriol had a terrible impact on her mental health. I wish she had found the peace she craved during her life and found a way to rise above the ugly side of life.
@AlmondJoie
@AlmondJoie Месяц назад
@@StellaGibson-cm1hzYou're welcome. Allegedly, Cheslie faced pressure from her mom to return to her law career after her reign as Miss USA ended, but she couldn't take the micro-aggression and discrimination she faced from others within the profession. Law is her stepfather's profession, pageantry was her mom's. Don't know what her father does for a living, but it seems like Cheslie gave up in trying to find her true calling, purpose, and passion in life. I don't think she really was all that fulfilled in working for _Extra,_ as Hollywood's obsession with youth and negativity on ageism only made her loathe being in her 30's (not to mention the haters who made an issue over her being the oldest Miss USA to win the crown). With that said, it's too bad that she couldn't have been mentored by some of the older women in her life whom she admired. They could've told her that with her being in her 30's, she was just getting started and had a lot of living left to do. Her mom's statement of "treating each day as though it were their last" sounds like she accepted that Cheslie would one day succeed in taking her own life.😞

What isn’t being said is the crushing weight of perfectionism - those of us who suffer from depression, anxiety, and more know that most daily things gets us worked up (anxiety) and bring us down (depression). I’ve had my stomach in knots & diarrhea a few times a week from just getting ready for work. Hitting snooze at least 10x every morning until the thought of being late or a forgotten task jolts me out of bed thanks to anxiety. I cried everyday I had to go to work bc of a toxic environment and genuinely hating my job (even tho I’m high ranking, high earning, accomplished, and revered). My stomach is twisting as I write this. Rest on, Cheslie. You don’t have to suffer in your own mind, anymore.

I hate to play devils advocate but that Beauty pageant culture seems to be a breeding ground for all things negative where one is endlessly chasing perfection and nothing is ever good enough … I pray for eternal peace over her mom and that her soul rests in peace !🙏

Ironic comment from me but I'm beginning to think most of the social sites have that same thing. The algorithms are to hook you in and the never ending need to top up someone else through commentary is not healthy for most. Not sure of solutions but we as a society have been sold dirty laundry and most of us who wear it metaphorically speaking are suffering for it.

That she had to wear a mask says it all. She had a realness she could not share, and she pandered to the game of those around her. Who wants to live in a world where you cannot be fully yourself. It's wise to reject that. She didn't want to pay the price for rejecting it openly... the image mattered to her. She felt she could Not share it, or she would lose her place, her standing... I don't know about that. I am minimally interested in the standards of others, because I find those standards often deficient... because they are False. But to sync with those standards is indeed to have clout.

We do talk. But we can't make any type of so called "wild claim" to anybody who chooses to be in a so called position to help without being criminalized or retraumatized. Which causes lack of purpose. If these thoughts, if homelessness, is criminalized, while squatting is not, and people who choose homelessness so as to choose human decency, we are punished. Then punished further in homeless shelters, you tell me, where is the purpose? Since Cheslie we lost Dr. Bailey, and Mandisa, and many more. Too soon.

, if there are red flags then should have gotten her some help outside of her normal routines , a mental health professional, mental health aide, counseling. She was clearly not getting enough support and attention, it’s unfortunate and unacceptable that we don’t see red flags or ignore them, rip, condolences to the beautiful daughter ,

Anyone else feel like the mom is a narcissist? She just gives off those vibes. Like seems completely unbothered of the fact that her daughter is gone. And is instead making it about herself. Super weird/sus energy. She just rubs me the wrong way.
