Don’t feel bad. I have two books that have been on my TBR since 1995 when I was in my first year of college. 😎

OH YES! I’ve just made a decision: to do this challenge for the rest of the year. 75 books on my TBr bookcase!! 😵 In July I can read the Austen related ones that are moulding; in October it will be the Victorian ones. “I can do this!!” Thank you for lighting the way…

Definitely need to do this for the rest of the year and possibly the decade - my TBR pile is more of a wall!

"Oh no the book Jenga has failed" 😂. A nice selection of a bunch of different genres as well. I'm participating in this and also the Orillum readathon hosted by Book Roast so I decided to only pick books I already owned. Most excited for Yellowface by RF Kuang and Mrs McGinty's dead by Agatha Christie which is a Poirot novel.

This was a fun setup with your TBR shelf in the back! I am always trying to get my TBR down. This year, I also put aside short books from my TBR that will be faster to go through, audiobooks for a mixed reading experience, and am more ok with DNFing if needed.

Was reminded today just how many books I already have on the go, so I will try to tackle those. First up, I want to finish Kurkov's Silver Bone before the announcement of the International Booker short list. Also, it appears I bought a dozen or so books on Rome after the passing of Jennifer Brooks and want to dig into them.

Most of the books on my physical TBR are quite long (apparently I put them off in favor of shorter ones) so I'm going to try for 6 but even that seems over ambitious. I have a complete set of Dickens that my father inherited so I put A Child's History of England on my April TBR. I think the longest unread book I have is the last of the Earth's Children series by Jean M Auel but I've read only three of the six so I'll read the 4th for the longest book prompt. Thanks for the video and the readathon.

I had only 3 books in my TBR but just today my cousin left to Sweden and "inherited" me 20 books...so my TBR list is now 23

Nevil Shuts was amazing. Requiem for a Wren is mind blowing, tackling the mental illness of many just after WWII. The audio book is good too. But you probably already know all this! Lol

That's an excellent pile of possibilities! Just yesterday I discovered an announcement video for a readalong of Les Miserables, co-hosted by Bouquins and Books, and I thought it would nicely fit on your reading challenge too as it is the longest book on my TBR (1946 pages in my two-volumes edition) and it's been there the longest (24 years!!!). So that may be my pick for this challenge if I don't get scared and run away 😂

I don't know; maybe there is a dozen of tbr I'd like to get to soon. Leading the way is As I Lay Dying because I've always had trouble with Faulkner but I've been in and out of the hospital all year so far and making no progress at all on any list. However, gradually my strength is returning and I remain optimistic that this is the year I do a breakthrough on my tbr. I hope so for you too, and thx for the video : )

Edward Carey is great. Rach and I are currently reading his latest, Edith Holler, narrated from the perspective of a girl who lives inside a theatre in Norwich in 1901. She's never left the building because there's said to be a curse upon her that if she ventures out into the world, the theatre will collapse. It's so Edwardian and strange and just everything you could want in a book.

I really need to read from my physical home library too. I've still got a few out from the library, reading The Women's Prize (How to Say Babylon and 8 lives of a Century Old Trickster) and The Stella Prize list (Praiseworthy), once I've finished those (plus a couple of poetry collections), hope to get onto it in April. Happy Reading 🙂

I'm always in awe of how many books some BookTubers read per month! I do plan to do some clearing out, but I was going to have some fun with it. I will give my daughters (9 and 7) some prompts and they will select books from my shelf for me. Knowing them they will probably wrap them, too. 😅 So I have no idea yet what I'll be reading.
@katiejlumsden
@katiejlumsden 3 месяца назад
I mean, I definitely won't manage to read all of these! I usually get to maybe 12 books a month, but in a month where I have time off work, I can usually get to more :)

I am going to read the first volume of the Life of Srila Prabupada who founded the Hare Krsna movement. Both volumes have been on my TBR since 2011. Both volumes are over 1,000 pages. I am participating in a readathon called People April. The volume one would cover 1. Book on my TBR for the longest time; among the longest book on my TBR. I have over 1,900 books on my TBR. I dont own all of these...

I have an embarassing number to choose from! My priorities are to finish A Game of Hide and Seek by Elizabeth Taylor which is tbe longest standing on my TBR (2019) and The Story of a Goat by Perumal Murugan which my partner got me for valentine's day this year. Think I'm aiming for 8 and mignt well mostly mood read apart from those two. I am in the mood for some non-fiction though and have several I'd like to get to
