Thank you man! Tried to tackle the job today but that pin just wouldnt come out even after pushing it with a flat screwdriver and spraying WD-40 on it. I'm going to hit it hard now that I know!
Hi there. Really useful video as I'm changing the pads on an Aprilia 6.5 moto. However when I put in the new pads in my caliper and replace the locating pin the pads kind of flop out. They don't seem secure at the front end. I also found on the garage floor a small rectangular piece that I'm uncertain what it's for. Any ideas?
It sounds like you're not getting the pads locked into the far end of the caliper before putting the pin in. The rectangular piece will likely be the retaining clip that gives the pads some spring tension. I'd suggest putting the caliper back on the bike then putting the pads in. Might help you line it up. You'll need to put the retaining clip back in first before you do.
