thanks for showing us these great mods. I have a Ducati now but I'm in the market for this bike after watching this vid because I see the advantage of having both low and up right bars. Thanks again!
Great looking bike the Tuono Factory, even better with the clipons and other upgrades. Austin Racing sounds really wicked. Once did the clipon thing to my previous bike a Ducati Streetfighter 1098. Felt much better.
the clip-ons really make the lack of fairing really pop. With the handlebars, the tuono looked like a standard with some fairings. The clip-ons make it look like a proper street fighter. Tuono is definitely on my list of must have bikes (will wait when it gets auto-blip). Great mods all around
Marloun Bayari thanks for checking out the vid! You'd be surprised how many people mistake this bike for an RSV4. As for getting a Tuono, check out the 2017's w auto up/down shifts!
SpeedJ0nez. once the spring hits I'll be out on my bike and I'll upload some videos of me blasting through the fine English countryside. Also hope to get some onboards when I'm at the Isle of Man TT this year.
This has to be one of the best looking and sounding bikes I have ever seen on youtube. Great job on the mods. Is the riding position aggressive like the the RR or is it slightly more comfortable because of the set up?
Lucius Accelerated thanks for stopping by and checking out the vid! Can't go wrong with a Tuono, but that Speed Triple is a great bike too! Take it easy bud!
Lucius Accelerated what year speedy ya got? I have an 06. Love that 05-10 design. Have mine tweaked out the way I like it too. Wouldn't ever get rid of it but def want a tuono too!
Bro, how is that thing still legal? I'd probably be sentenced to death here in germany just by thinking about doing any of these mods. Nice bike though and great video!
Nothing but drool on my end! Beautiful machine! Reminds me of my Ninja 650 I bought in 2014. Took it off the dealership lot and in a month it had clipons and was street fightered. I've since bought a gsxr 750. I like to think the tuono is next. That or a Ducati 959. I'm sick of Japanese bikes lol.
Looking very nice indeed mate!!!, you took this animal to another level !! ride safe! greetzz Dennis ps did you paint or wrap the upper side fairin in black? thats something i´m looking for myself aswell, looks well nice!
Ok, thanks again SpeedJ0nez. One other thing if you don't mind. can you do a vid of you turning your bike to full lock so i can see how close it comes to the faring. I'm in agreement with you, as i to prefer clip-ons over the stock bars. Plus, i will see if i can get some RSV4 black wheels, thanks for all your help.
Hey Mark, I think the black rims make the bike look much more aggressive! I really liked the bike's whole look better and the handling/acceleration was even better! As for the clip-on vid, not sure when I'll get to that as I have the front fairing off for a new windscreen right now. At full lock, the clutch/brake levers don't actually touch the fairing, but they are within a millimeter or two. You certainly wouldn't want to get your fingers stuck in there. I've been through 4 sets of clip-ons on this bike. The best clip-ons if you're concerned about interference with the fairing are the Apex 3" adjustable clip-ons. You can adjust them so there is zero interference, but they need to be pulled back so far that I can't stretch my torso over the tank, so I went with the RSV4's instead. The Apex also make it tough to position the downward angle of your clutch/brake levers depending on how you install them. YMMV. Good Luck!
Thanks for checking out the vid! Yes it's different. My understanding is that the Race ECU alters Air/Fuel Maps, Timing, Ride By Wire maps and tweaks things like the amount of engine braking in the various modes, where the PC is mainly for Fuel Maps (but I've never used a PC myself). I also understand that you can refine the Race ECU's fuel map a little more with a piggyback PC (potentially tweaking a few more ponies out of different areas of the rev range). The biggest difference with the Race ECU and slip-on is the mid throttle positions have much more power. WOT is about the same, so you really don't make much more overall HP, just feel it more at partially open throttle positions.
Love the mods you have done to your bike fella. It looks amazing.! One question. Where did you get the screen.? I've looked on the Puig website and just can't find it anywhere.
Oli Walker thanks for checking out the vid! I got the screen at AF1 racing in Austin Tx but I hear they are back ordered. There's also a new screen on the market that I'm ordering this weekend. Looking forward to checking that one out!
damn i love the mods u habe done to this. on mine the back pillion assembly has been removed, it has a race can but thats it...this looks sublime and again totally living those clip ons. so they are just rsv4 standard?
Hi SpeedJonez! Nice Exhaust there!! and I'm also a big fans of RSV4 because of that cool sportbike looking..but I'm also the person who want better low and midrange power throughout my riding..Does that 1100 tuono really make big difference with the RSV4 when it comes to the low and mid range power?
Thanks for stopping by! There is more midrange torque making it better for street riding and the kind of twisty (mostly 1-3rd gear) canyon riding I do, but it does sacrifice the top end of the RSV4, so top speed is reduced. Depends on what your priorities are.
I see..then Tuono will be more likely to be my bike because I love twisty rides...thank you so much for the reply...btw..the austin racing pipe is almost like a direct pipe..wont you feel it is too loud when you are ridng?
schapman25 - I got them on ebay. Here's a similar setup: www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-6-Motorcycle-Universal-Strip-Turn-Signal-Indicator-Tail-Section-9LED-Amber-/172543600070?hash=item282c6665c6:g:UOsAAOSwr~lYrQn5&vxp=mtr. Thanks for checking out the vid!
amazing work done mate... loved the mods :D ! i am thinking of trading in my fazer 1000 for the tuono... i had a few questions... are the which year RSV4 clipons and rearsets would fit the tuono? also did you face any issue with the shift rod for the rearset ? also any issues with quickshift or autoblip function? and did you remove only the left side inner fairing how close is it to the fairing after clipons... like break lever hitting the fairing or the clutch.... and last question ate you able to lock the bike properly?..
Thanks for posting the video. Very helpful. How much did it cost to add the clip-ons with all the parts and labor? Did the cables need to be shortened?
SpeedJ0nez thanks for the quick response. How long did it take to do the clip-on install? Also was there any adjustment needed for the fuel line? If yes, what was the adjustment?
Have you the originales master cylinder with the clips on ? I have some issue with clips ons : My twos accossato PR19 doesn’t fit well with the fairing when I turn my bikes. Can you explain or post pics of your solution please ?
this is my dream bike. i'm relatively a new rider, still riding a 250. Do you think after getting used to a 250, it's a good idea to jump all the way to a liter bike? Or do you recommend going through a 600cc first? Nice vid btw 👍👍
Thanks for checking out the vid! It's an amazing machine! As for your question, I still like the idea of getting a 600 first. I rode dirt for 15 years (125 and 390cc 2 strokes), then got my first 600 street bike and have had 3 liter bikes since then. The better you get on the small bikes the better you'll be on the big bike. IMHO. Keep it rubber side down my friend!
SpeedJ0nez thanks a lot man. Definitely need to take my time & gain more experience. But when the time comes for me to get my 1st litre bike, this tuono will definitely be it. Keep them videos coming man, i'll sure be coming back.
Adrian Barkus thanks for checking out the vid. You'll probly save a bunch of money on the 2016. The 2017 adds better brakes, better cartridges on the front suspension, TFT display, higher revs, auto down kipper but guessing you'll pay $3000+ more for a 2017, so gotta figure what those updates are worth to you! Good luck! These are fun bikes!
Thanks man and thanks for checking out the vid. The screen is Puig Racing Screen. To my knowledge these will NOT fit the earlier Tuono. They are made for the new front fairing on the 2016 and later bikes.
Did you have any problems installing your clip on's? Also, i notice that the black covers on the inside faring is missing. When you turn, do the clip on's hit anything? Thanks SpeedJOnez
No problems installing clip-ons but there is very little clearance at full lock. I did remove one of the inner fairing covers to get a little more clearance on full lock. Also, I don't get to use the underside bolt to secure the clip-ons to the triple clamp as that's only supported on the RSV4 triple.
Wow looks great , but what are advantages of buying tuono and installing rsv4 clipon over going with RSV 4:)?? You said ... looks better and It gets this unique character. Anything else ??? - Im was going to buy RSV 4 and you messed in my mind now:) Is your Tuono is still more comfy then rsc4 etc ?? Thanks in advance
Nice ride, ive done a lot of similiar ones to my 2016 1100RR. Been looking for a bigger wind screen. what model Puig is that? How difficult to replace it?
Roland Alix thx for checking out the vid! It's the PUIG racing screen for the Tuono. You have to pull the front fairing to install so it's a bit complicated if you haven't done it before. There's a good write up on ApriliaForum.com that's shows how to remove the fairing if you're interested.
Hey Speed, where did you get the turn signal kit? And also please the tank protector? I have a '17 Factory that I just picked up and I am interested in these mods.
No, these are the part numbers I have for clip-ons: 2B0011344 and 2B0011334. I bought mine used on the Aprilia forum though. Much cheaper. As for the rims, I actually have the forged rims from an earlier RSV4 factory. I forgot to mention that on my video. One of the best mods of all. Lame that I forgot to mention on the vid. LOL!
Did you have any issues with clearance from the fairing? I've read that when you put clip-ons on that they will bang up against the fairing when turned hard over. I'm planning on doing this to mine and would appreciate any help.
Man, just got a 2019 1 month ago, and I am really this close getting clip ons for it, I came from 2010 s1000rr and I kinda miss the riding position at a good pace. What is the difference in the RS V4 foot pegs vs the stock on the Tuono ?
when I saw the stick on indicators I went "fuck they are illegal where I live". They look rather nice altho I don't feel comfy sticking things to my bike.
Hey bud watched this a few times now and have just put the same exhaust on my tuono factory, did you have all 3 baffles out, and if so the one in the silencer itself which way did you take it out, i have got the 2 from link pipe out but spotted the one in the can
Pontus Drugge - The windscreen fit great! No problems. I have now moved over to a Powerbronze screen though as I like the look better than the Puig. Thanks for checking out the vid!
The stupid led indicator strip needs removing get some led rizoma' s on it !! Nice can I must admit but crap r&g sliders get some puig ones fitted , custom seat / cover, red wheels white rim stripes job done take it from me lol
It's a Sony Stereo mic placed in the tail section behind the main seat. There's a link to it in the description above. Thanks for checking out the vid!
Check out AF1racing.com. You might also find some deals on Apriliaforum.com. Thanks for stopping by and checking out the vid! Good luck with the new Tuono! You're gonna luv it!
JAMAL AMBRIS Thx 4 checking out the vid! I got a customized version of this one on eBay. www.ebay.com/itm/350556135601 The Seller bent it the opposite direction and removed the signal light tabs for me!
Thanks maine i got an rsv4 and think it will look mint with that on it plus ur right it looks a lot like the rsv4 and prob cheaper on insurance lol nice bike gotta love that v4 baby
