We dance on our original temple, we wear our original clothes, we dance the way of our ancestors taught, we sing along our most origin traditional song and we are original Khmer Empire.
A gem footage to be treasured: the Apsara dance and dancers, the exquisite costumes, the very stones of Angkor, the camera work. Absolutely proud of my country Kampuchea and to be a Khmer. Chomriep Sur and Orkhun Chreun, Tola Chap.
I heard that the hand signs had a meaning, maybe similiar to sign language,a way of passing messages in ancient times, always amazed me the significant ways the way their fingers pointed in a most distinct way. Maybe like hidden signals of what was to happen in the Royal commands for the countries future?
Thanks to Tola Chap for posting, and especially to Cambodian Culture Minister Princess Norodom Bopha Dedi for producing such a beautiful Royal Apsara dance for Khmer and the world to enjoy.. The dancers, the singers and the musicians have performed a world class classical dance. This Apsara dance is an intricate art and takes years to learn. It dates back to Angkor times as can be seen in Angkor Wat bas reliefs (murals).
@@timwiltshire3752 yes, they all carry meaning, we Hindus in India and other South-east Asian nations have dances, which are ritualistic or for entertainment. They tell a moral story or a historical event, or drama or even simply dance, these all are the influence of 2 millennium of Hindu cultural dominance and the beautiful assimilation of local South-east Asian cultures. For ex- Now that u saw Apsara dance of Cambodia, Apsara means a celestial dancer in Sanskrit language and this dance was formulated around the 3-4th centuries AD or even older by Khmer Hindus who converted to Buddhism later on, since both of them are somewhat similar and Buddhism is derived frm Hinduism, like Christianity is another form of Judaism (with its own tenets, of course), they didn't leave these dances and they were alloted a ceremonial or aesthetic value, same with the Hindus converting to Islam in Indonesia and Malaysia. Also, see Odissi dance frm Odisha, it's the oldest classical dance of India, by archeological evidence. Hindus and Buddhists both affected each other by their culture, such that some hindus are more Buddhist while some Buddhists are more hindu, it is very cordial between us.
I live in Long Beach California and we have the biggest population of Cambodians and we have Cambodia town and I’m so proud! I love Cambodians and their beautiful dances and culture 🇰🇭🇰🇭

Chỉ có thái mới đê tiện hạ lưu vừa ăn cướp vừa la hàng coppy hết tất cả truyền thống Khmer lâu đời .kinh tụng cũng Theo Khmer tiệc chủng gì cũng lấy đc hết còn ăn cướp hình tượng phật đem về để thờ nữa chứ dù Thái nó giàu hơn Khmer nhưng danh tiếng ăn cướp vẫn ngàn đời lưu truyền 🇨🇷👎🦶🦶
Let's just say Asian culture is more sophisticated than European culture ! Doesn't matter if you're first or second , be glad that your culture is well-known today and that many people acknowledges it. I'm half Thai, Laotian, and Hmong. ( Besides No one is familiar what ''Hmong'' is, do I get offended "No" I just educate them) I used to be so ashamed of being so. But I come to realized that nowadays People want interracial children. I am so proud of myself of who I am and I do acknowledge all three culture I am part of. But however, ASIA IS ALWAYS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL!!
Amazing, stunningly beautiful & very well executed. I just hope that some day, all the HINDU Buddhist based countries will come together as one voice, one very rich and diverse community. Then peace will prevail on EARTH. Jai Hind.
@@p.5629 derived frm Hindu culture only, even the saree and script of Sri lanka is derived frm Hindu culture only, Buddhism came recently. But, I love Buddhism too.
