Aptera is going to be epic! This company is on its way to production and will deliver. This car just has to exist, its design is too good, its economy and usefulness too great. No doubts there will be problems to be solved before Aptera achieves full scale production, but with a loyal customer (fan) base and good communication, it cannot fail.

@@arlenbell4376 Heh, yeah I get that. Only 40, but already thinking about these things much differently than I did 15 years ago, that's for sure. Like my Blu-ray and video game collecting; "How many of these will I actually ever have time to watch/play..." and "How much time do I have left to attempt making a film, working on animation, etc... or should I be spending my remaining time/energy actually, like... helping people or something, ha.") That sort of thing. Yeesh... guess most of us end up thinking about that stuff at some point... started around 19 or 20 for me, ha, OK too much, my bad, ha. Well, I've since adjusted my expectation by about a year. Late 2028, maybe 2029... yeah, I'd rather have it sooner, but I need to save more money anyway... probably should put it towards a house or property... bleh.

@@emilioparrilla465 That's a good way to look at it. I won't consider an Aptera until 2028 at the earliest to give the company time to get through the initial growing pains of a start-up and to make certain they are making a quality product. The vehicle has a wow factor that I love, but it has to be more than good-looking. Questions I will have at that time be about the warranty, consumable parts availability, maintenance schedule, ease of repair, how close to advertised is the range and charging, among other things that won't be known until consumers get them. I understand the fans that want their vehicle right away, but I'm willing to wait.

Log into the Aptera website, scroll down and click on view your reservation. Your order number will be at the top of the list Reservations apparently began at #10001, so subtract 10,000 to get your approximate place in line. (Other items apply…non-vehicle order numbers, cancelations, and numbers Aptera may have reserved, so all numbers are rough at best.)
@chriseidam7319
@chriseidam7319 3 месяца назад
Unfortunately, they decided to discard that order. You no longer have a place in line based on when you placed an order. You have a place in line based on when they want to make your version with your specs. I don't know what's going to happen if they don't want to build your specs anymore. I get the feeling that's going to happen to me. I ordered a white 600 MPC with the off-road and the tent and every upgrade you could get except for the cargo net. Now they don't want to make any color but silver. They don't want to use any other range but 400. You can't choose a stereo anymore, so I don't know if they're choosing to put in an excellent stereo, which was the upgrade, or if they plan to put in a cheapo stereo to keep the cost down. I doubt they'll ever make that tent. That tent is poorly designed. The quoted price on what they're showing is actually insane. What I see is a tent that sells for $50 at a big box discount store. Not a $900 tent. I am an expert backpacker and camper and that tent will never work. I even sent them a couple of emails to contact one of the more famous tent designers in the backpacking industry but I never heard a response. I know I'm a Debbie Downer on these boards today, but I don't think anyone has to worry about their place in line with Aptera. They don't even have a company for the motors anymore. I don't know what happened with that motor supplier they were touting last year or the year before, but Sandy Monroe reported that they're no longer going to be working with that company. And there's never been a mention of any other motor company. And the progress bar for the motors is incomplete. To not be building that car in the background as quickly as they can with the parts they do have tells you that they don't have anywhere near enough parts to even make it look like a finished car. That means they're missing a lot more than 3% of the parts. The problem with this kind of investing, Regulation A, is that it's done so that there's less supervision, less disclosure and less regulation in a startup. It puts the investor at a great disadvantage. It's great gobs of faith with little security. I'm actually losing my enthusiasm this week after watching the CNN interview and this investor video. The Kool-Aid drinkers think it was fantastic. I thought it was a disaster. Pushing timelines yet again. Not having all of their supplies lined up by now. Blowing more deadlines, like that they were already going to be testing PIs in January of this year and telling us well they don't even have a motor supplier. How can I be hopeful?

@@gmv0553 (Edited) I have read that Elaphe might not be their motor supplier on another channel's board. Then I saw that they don't have a binding agreement with any other major suppliers and they can't have one with Elaphe unless they buy 20,000 motors. It's not clear in the May filing by Aptera if they have to pay for them all at once. (Edit end.) I wouldn't be surprised if thev hare labeled it the "electromechanical" part they still need. @@richardryley3660 Read page six of their May filing with the SEC. You will see that they have to buy 20,000 motors from Elaphe before they have a binding agreement with them. They don't have binding agreements with their other major suppliers. It's all on page six. Doesn't it seem kind of late for that? It was another poster on another channel who mentioned that Sandy Monroe said months ago that he Elaphe was no longer going to supply motors to Aptera. That's not rock solid, but what they do have is not all that great if they have to come up with all of the money at once for the 20,000 motors before they have a binding agreement. That's a big pill to swallow. Also suspicious is I didn't see the logo for Elaphe in the background with the other logos when Chris did his presentation. Maybe I missed it. But what if it wasn't there?

Putting a car together out of parts from many different suppliers is the wrong way to go. A manufacturer needs to be vertically integrated to build a car economically and avoid all sorts of problems in quality and compatibility. Looks like they are going to learn that the hard way, if they actually get to production.
@peterstasinaki642
@peterstasinaki642 3 месяца назад
I agree with you but to vertically integrate everything costs big money. Even Tesla sourced parts from different suppliers when they started with the roadsters. Give them time and money, I’m sure they will also produce all their own parts.

Spot on. It only takes one part supplier to destroy the company if it wants to hold the company hostage to force it to modify the terms of their contract or if it has been put into action by nefarious sponsors, such as oil companies and competitors to prevent the manufacturing of Apteras. It happened to my dad as an inventor and entrepreneur in the machine tool trade. It happened to my friend that invented Hemplights. He had to sue the plastics company that was holding his very expensive molds hostage and would not produce units and would not return his molds because that plastics company was trying to steal the company from him. Approximately eight years later and after hundreds of thousands of units had been sold, a competitor that started five years after him sued him for his patent. Of course he won. But he still had to pay money to fight the suit. Those are just two people I know. You better believe it happens to a lot of people. And it could be happening to have Tara. Where did the wheel motor company go? Why was there falling out? Why haven't we been told? There's a lot of things I do not like about Tesla. But I will say that they're smart to make as many of the parts on the car in their own factories as they can to avoid being held hostage by a supplier.
@richardryley3660
@richardryley3660 3 месяца назад
@@chriseidam7319I've heard nothing about a falling out with Elaphe. If they're going to complete a chassis within the next month or two it should be fairly obvious if it's Elaphe. I'm guessing the lime green color will give them away. Vertical integration is more suited to large corporations and has a number of disadvantages, including high cost of development and tooling for the company. And in fact, vertical integration can sometimes result in one company having too much control over the market, stifling competition.

 They no longer have a motor supplier, last I heard. I'm an early investor and an early reservation holder. I started to get upset after watching that investor video and the CNN interview. Lots of broken promises. Lots of new promises that willl be broken later. Lots of happy smiles. Watch the body language of Chris when he talks about funding and timelines. You will often see him blink his eyes. You will often see him look downward and to the right. I don't know Chris' baseline for lying. Everybody lies. Some people lie a lot more than other people lie. While many sheer common tails, some show tells and that others do not and vice versa. So it's best to know a baseline. But we don't have that luxury. Everybody who lies secretly wants to reveal that they're lying And they do it with tells - like sublime confessions - to maintain a shred of imagined integrity. Even serial killers will do this. The most common traits of somebody saying something that they don't believe are that they will blink excessively wow speaking and/or they will always look downward and to the right before they say what they're going to say that they do not believe. These two behaviors are not universal, but they're extremely common. I recommend keeping those two visual tells in mind every time you watch Chris during the CNN interview and the investor video. Watch for blinking while he's speaking when he's saying something that is a promise or a forecast or rosie outlook or if he downplays a problem. Watch for him looking downward and to the right. There are other tells as well. Look to see if he makes eye contact with the camera or the interviewer when he makes a declarative statement that would be the equivalent of a promise. Does he stop and look downward and to the right before he answers? Is he blinking when the words are exiting his mouth? Is he avoiding eye contact when he answers a question and is speaking? We could turn it into a drinking game. Every time Chris looks downward and to the right or blinks when he makes a declarative statement, you take a shot of your preferred hard alcohol.
