Tbf they didn't contact the Sixties Scoop survivors, whom they really should've, because they're the group who was most torn apart by this revelation. Like if they were doing a story about Japanese-Americans during WWII and they interviewed a few Japanese-Americans but NONE of the ones whose families were imprisoned in the internment camps.

Yeah, 0:10 it was not very impartial was ìt? Here many months on, and it's now been reported her son posted that 'mom isn't Native she wears make up and her hair's dyed black for years. She's Italian American....' on Facebook 2 yrs ago or less. When PBS did the documentary on Buffy, her answers about birthplace, family ( absolutely NO MENTION OF HER 'adopted American Family except the recreation of her noe dead brother Alan who was so sadistic he used to beat up my toys??!!) her story about the Piapot Cree adoption and her new claim -which bizarrely NEVER WAS mentioned in early interviews or bio-based articles which often have the big details especially emotional traumas by artists or interviews that BSM was a victim of Canada's scoop Policy. That term 'Sixties Scoop' was coined in 1983. Almost around the time, the courts, etc, (when the government weren't getting away with the public's complete apathy anymore and) began issuing their usual simpering APOLOGIA, and finally after decades of legal proceedings restitution was discussed, debated. Due to that & hard work of actual Native advocates for many Indigenous 😊😅 issues facing the communities, the media had a lot of coverage on the 60s policies. Television documentaries showed real survivors telling their truth. Better late than never they would say. I know its cynical but I think the trauma in those stories was witnessed by BSM; she felt the power of those people's memories and absorbed them and began to add those tragedies to the bullet points of her completely fabricated life "story" .
