▶ www.inflatableboarder.com/rapid - In this 2018 Aqua Marina RAPID review, we'll take a closer look at this brand new river SUP model and discuss why it's a good choice for whitewater and SUP surfing.
The Aqua Marina RAPID measures 9'6" x 33" x 6" and it weighs in at 22 pounds. This board features dual layer PVC construction with dual stringers running the length of the top deck for added rigidity. Aqua Marina also reinforced the rails with 1000 Denier, further bolstering the boards rigidity and overall durability.
The top of the RAPID is covered by an extremely comfortable EVA foam traction pad that feels great on the feet. It has a diamond pattern and at the rear is a raised kick tail for improved control.
At the middle of the board is a carrying handle that is covered by a durable rubber grip. There are also two grab handles near the front of the deck pad, at the nose, and at the tail.
The nose of the board features a bungee cord storage area for stashing gear, as well as a GoPro camera mount.
At the tail is a Halkey Roberts-style air valve and another D-ring for securing a SUP leash.
On the bottom of the Aqua Marina RAPID SUP are two more D-rings located at the nose and tail of the board for tethering and towing. The board has 5 fins, all of which are fixed and very flexible.
Included with the 2018 RAPID inflatable SUP is Aqua Marina's MAGIC backpack, 23.5" JOMBO SUP pump, pressure gauge, air compressor adapter, and iSUP repair kit. No paddle or SUP leash are included with this board.
Also, Aqua Marina covers the RAPID with a 12-month warranty which covers manufacturer defects.
While it's not an inflatable paddle board that performs well for flatwater paddling, the Aqua Marina RAPID is a ton of fun in the surf and in whitewater conditions. The 33" width gives the board outstanding stability, and the blunted nose and swallow tail perform well in the conditions it was designed for.
