@@KelsAquariums I’m looking to have a sand substrate and wanting to know whether I can plant straight into sand with the use of root tabs or do I need a layer of aqua soil below the sand. Would you know?
@@adsg7875 root tabs should be fine. In my nano i am growing a few different cryptocorynes and dwarf lilys using root tabs and they are doing well. I wasn't sure weather the lily would be ok but it grows like a weed.
Sorry mate one more question. The nano 60 is basically out of stock everywhere. Any recommendations you have for a 100 to 130l tank. There is the Juwel Rio 125 which is 300 quid then ive seen the Aqua manta Nano 80 which is 110 litres but thats only 240..........imso indecisive i cant decide or know of any more recommendations
I really like the nano for its simplicity but ability to mod the filter set up with plenty of mechanical and bio filtration. I used the old trays (with media removed) as separators for coarse and medium foams but the arrangement was a bit different as it was a smaller nano.
How did you keep the pump quiet with it being at the bottom? Mine is only quiet at the top but a few times the water level has dropped and it’s nearly caught me out.
The filtration is sort of an in tank sump and comes with decent media so the filtration is good. It does come with some cartridges that I just don't use I have had the nano 40 also and ditched the cartridges as well they are just pointless but the sintered glass rings that come with it are actually pretty good and the large sponges are fine. I have a piece lily growing out of a spare slot in the filter compartment also :). I really like them and will be getting another one soon to replace my shrimp tank.
i do not run marine tanks but the light would not be correct for coral and you would probably need a protein skimmer. I am no expert on marine setups though sorry mate
@@KelsAquariums When I told the captain I was ready to put it out of reach and that I wanted to have two of them, he said, "That is the way with this." Then he turned to us. "Why are you going?" I asked. He shook his head. "I don't know. In any other circumstance, I think, I would have taken two." "Of course," I replied. "Just take a break now." "You have not spoken to the officer all day," he added. "He has." We made his way back to the cabin. "Yes, of course," I said, "because I knew I would be here." "Have you ever met him?" he asked. "Never heard him speak. I can't make a name for myself until I see him in the house. Let me know if you know anything. He will tell me if I know anything until I find out if he can tell me more." He took my hand and said, "Sir, I'm afraid this is a bit too early. I've got four more to come if I have no time to keep myself busy. If there isn't time I will have to wait until I have some lunch. It may be two miles away." I nodded. "Of course, sir. The door is open." How long is the tank? I'm not sure.
