Hi Karl, love your gear reviews and I too love my Aquaglide Cirrus 110! My fave hack - I got the tiny Subnado electric dive scooter and bolted it to a cheapo fin off Amazon that fits the Cirrus fin box. And voila! Super-stealthy lightweight electric kayak! On low setting the Subnado gives the Cirrus just enough oomph to counter a current or wind while I paddle, or maybe tow a buddy on a pool float lol. Just thought you might enjoy the idea...
Karl, Thanks much for posting your review. It solidified our decision to get the Aquaglide Cirrus 110 for my wife so we can buddy paddle instead of tandem paddling in our Sea Eagle Fast track 385. Also, many thanks to User-ze6po… for your post about an electric motor mod. We have a Bixpy K1 for our Sea Eagle to use as you described for extra power as needed. We’re seniors so it helps to have an assist at times. I plan to attach the Bixpy just as you have suggested through modifying a sacraficial skag. Fingers crossed that it will work on the Cirrus 110! Super content as usual Karl, it would be great to get get some feedback on how your cirrus, the Aquaglide Chelan 140 and the Sea eagle fast track all compare, would be good to have a big get together paddle for a day where we could get a diverse selection to swop try and compare our IWC, happy to bring my x500 & RL 393. Love your work, watching you and a couple of others who have a passion for canoes Kayaks & inflatable water craft have so helped me through some dark times recovering from illness, now all clear putting weight back on and training hard, many thanks Karl 👌
That's really great to read, and I'm glad you're on the mend. One of the good things about the group meets is the opportunity to try different boats - like in the recent Cleethorpes video where I tried the Kayacat and found I don't like it. I do have a Cirrus comparison in mind coming up 😁👍

Great follow up! Not sure if you heard, but there's been a reorganization and the company that owns BOTE now owns AquaGlide, so fingers are crossed that BOTE keeps the newer AG models, like the Cirrus, in production. I love my Cirrus 150, but considering biting the bullet and buying a pair of Cirrus 110 in case they're no longer available.
We've put ours through the paces this summer fom flooded backwaters in Oregon to class II rapids in Idaho USA and serious boat and wind chop on Lake Chelan and the Columbia River in Washington USA.. Just yesterday my wife high centered on submerged stump with not even a scratch.
Cracking isn't it :D I've read a lot of comments about it not being robust however my guess is those people don't understand the toughness of TPU :D If you've seen the video of us on the Lune (Loonies on The Lune - the pink flamingo trip) I took the Expedition 85 packraft (TPU) on that and grounded out loads of times - not a mark on it!
have you tested it at sea, I live in Montpellier in France, near the sea and one of my goals is to do long coastline within 300 meters of the shore thank you for your feedback
@@dianadom4742 cards on the table, I'll probably never do it! Why? I've been out on the sea in AG Expedition 85 packraft and it was great, so I know the Cirrus could definitely handle a calm sea. If you've seen my Windermere video with the Cirrus you'll know it can also handle choppy water. So I'd have no concerns about being on a calm sea with it. However... The Cirrus is a 2 piece craft and after finishing it's going to be a faff removing the floor chamber, drying and cleaning all the sea water off it and then reinstalling the floor chamber. In most recent upload I was on the sea in the AG Deschutes and that was easy to clean afterwards. In recent months I've come to really appreciate single piece crafts for how much easier they are to maintain. I still love the Cirrus, and I'll still be using it. But I must say, I'm surprised how much I love the Deschutes. Does all of that make sense?

Fantastic. Very tempting. I already have 3 inflatables. One is the aquaglide deschute 130. We now only use it when we take the dog, as I find it far too wide and sluggish, with a soft floor that slows it down big time. Useful for carrying a lot of gear. It is also very light but nothing like the Cirrus! Then I have a Sandbank Style drop stitch one. You have done a review on that and it performed worse than its competitor. I would give it 7 out of ten. And then a cheap aquamarina Betta which is a 2 seater and great for the kids. For the price it is not bad at all. But the lightness of the cirrus makes me want to invest again, especially after your review. Is it easy to paddle as well as being so versatile? And one crucial question: the boat is only 6 kilos, but what is it like by the time you add the pump and your life jacket? Do you put them in a separate bag? As a 70 years old woman I find these things a real consideration, especially as we go paddling a lot. By the way, I also have a skin on greenland style kayak which I adore, but when we go away we cannot transport our ‘proper’ kayaks in the motorhome. We are lucky to live in the Highlands where we have a lot of lochs on our door steps. And does the kayak go back easily in its bag? They normally are hellish to put back. Wow! That's a comprehensive comment 😅 You might be better going back through the videos I've done with this, however I'll try and answer your questions best I can... 1. Yes it's an easy paddle because the sides aren't too high or wide. It pootles along nicely for me at around 3.5mph although your steady speed will be based on the way you personally paddle. For comparison the Aquatec Ottawa, a faster boat is around 4mph. The Aquaglide Expedition packraft around 2.5mph. 2. Weight: when I walked with it I carried a pump at around 2kg + paddle 1.5kg + life vest and other bits and bobs (drink/batteries etc) probably another 1.5kg max. On the train trip I had almost everything in the 90litre rucksack at just over 13kg plus a bum bag with bits and bobs in. I took an inflatable PFD on that trip for smaller pack-down size. 3. Packing away: it goes back in the provided large grey drybag with loads of room to spare however that bag is not practical for distance carrying (which I point out in the video). For the train trip, as previously mentioned I had it + paddle/pump/PFD/mooring line/towel etc in a 90 litre rucksack/holdall. For the outings I've done with this I've purposefully followed the video with a 'what did I take' video to show exactly what i packed with me. I hope that helps :D
Hey quick question, did you notice any wear to the bow and stern protectors after all your trips? I had mine on a trip today and I noticed a tiny cut in the bow protector, maybe 2-3 mm. an answer would be a great help for me, I need to figure out if/what to do about that. Thanks!
