If you do that with a strap this big it will eventually go under a tire and then whatever is loaded gets crushed by the strap. I know you are just joking but I felt like being a bit of a killjoy.

If you twist the strap before you cinch it down.The straps will not sing to you at high speed.

If you're a commercial hacker and you twist your straps, you'll get awards from the DOT officer. Twisted straps are dangerous and always come loose.

@@BigLeo8772In my experience flat straps loosen up because theyre constantly moving around from the wind. I give them a half twist and they stay still.

I do that but put the strap under the buckle it protects whatever is under buckle and will not be slamming against it every bump.

We have done that many times. Sometimes it does come loose. Before your strap gets tight you roll up the strap like he did then feed what you rolled up into the ratchet as you tighten it. It will stay and not come loose till you release the ratchet..

I use the same method, but the only thing different I do is I put the remaining strap under the ratchet, then I tighten up a little more. "Shoestring from Chicago"

Hauled for many years. Personally I use the strap as a signal if my load shifted in transit. If a strap loosen a bit the extra would flap huge tail. That's how I liked it

If you tie the tail to the bit under tension it doesn’t vibrate. Or you can twist it, but still this is great 👍

I just use a second strap to hold the loose end of the first strap down. And a third strap to hold the loose end of the second strap down...

Tale the loop you made and pass alf of it though the open handle then fold the other half through itself around the handle then close the handle and lock it. The tag end will come loose after a couple hundred miles if its not tied or locked.

I do this and it works good 👍 just need to practice making it tight, when it gets tight i wiggle and tighten more. Best part they dont show you is that you just pull the end and its undone in 1 second

This will come undone on dirt roads, a better way is to roll up the loop then feed the line through and over, also works for ropes and long chains. And can easily be undone. Just has a little tail to flap

Just the vibration of sitting there at idle will loosen this brainstorm. Nylon straps have a slick surface. Invest in some good spring loaded hand clamps. Or better yet a roll of Duck brand tape. Wal-Mart carries it. Not duct tape, Duck Brand tape.
