Yes, the thermal pads are included. They are different from the original pads so do not reuse them. Our pads are thinner and have a better heat transfer ability.
Another thing I'd like to add: As the GPU chips/core is smaller than a CPU's heat spreader, the compound spreads out and cover the the entire area. I've tested this myself, and you can test it as well with the very same test method used in the mentioned "How Thermal Compound Spreads" video.
PCBs with the Nvidia imprint and their logo are normally boards with the reference design and compatible to our blocks. The reference layout is designed by Nvidia and other companies can use it. The logo is only some kind of copyright note. Cards without that logo or other imprints are completely new or revised designs - usually not compatible to our blocks. There is only a handful of real manufacturers for graphics cards. Most companies only buy these cards and place their stickers on it.
No, we never include fittings because everyone is using different connectors for their system. It would make no sense to include some connectors since most people would not be able to use them.
Great example of how it should NOT be done with this card. The mentioned video shows a CPU which has a heatspreader on top so it does not matter that around 20% will stay uncovered. Other than the CPU the GPU of the GTX 680 does not have a heatspreader so you are already looking at the naked core and every uncovered area of it will result in problematic hotspots.
...and done exactly like this a few hundred(!) times in our company without any difference to other methods. This subject is just like all the voodoo around audio cables for example.
What do you mean? Do you have a problem with the original screw from the stock fan or has distance bolt broken off? By changing you will lose the warranty anyway. Only a few card producers officially allow the exchange without voiding the warranty.
You've been lucky then. Theres a slight risk of air bubbles to get trapped between the two parts. the dot-method pretty much removes that risk. It has been proven over and over and there literally tons of youtube videos out there proving that other methods drastically reduces chances of air getting trapped. Just search on "How Thermal Compound Spreads" and skip up to the part where they show the improper "Spread method".
The GTX 670 Winforce 3 uses the exact same layout as the reference GTX 680 board except that it has a 8 pin and 6 pin power connector. From watching this video, I see that this block does not cover the 6 pin power connector, based on this, would it fit ?
that thermal application will create air bubbles, because you are kneading air into the paste with each movement of the blade. watch this video How Thermal Compound Spreads ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-EyXLu1Ms-q4.html
