AAUYYEEEE my crinum is doing quite well brotha!! my man dustin really came through with my last plant order i was very impressed love yall! i wish everyone health and wellness 🌱🌻🐟🌻🌱
I dont know if youll ever see this but im the type of guy who thinks outside the box and thought more on the aquaponics side! You need flow! How about an Eb and Flow with a syphon setup to either drain or fill a bed of those plants? Imagine hundreds if not thousands of liters of water dumped all at once, 2, 3 or 4 times per hour!? Rivers flow but also pulse .
Spot on! I got a crinum from Dustin and it wasn't doing well in sand, in fact it started rotting. Per his advice I pulled it from the sand and put it in an open gravel, it started recovering. It kept floating up and eventually I stopped bothering to plant it again. For 2 weeks it has been floating right in front of my filters output and its THRIVING now. New leaves, long leaves, no more funky slime. Good plants and good tips Dustin!
Nice! Thanks for popping in to the live stream last week. When we see crinum in tanks that are vertical with the leaves going everywhere. In the wild, all those leaves are dragged downstream by the current. The only vertical part of the plant is the flower spike.
I totally agree. My crinum wasn't doing much and I didn't it would actually start growing. I redid my tank and put it under my hang on back cause it fit there best. It has grown 2 new roots 3+" long in only 5 days
Hey Dustin we recently ordered from you and you were outta stock of the Java fern and you hooked us up with a monster bolbitis very nice loving it man tank on!
I think getting a circular water flow in an aquarium is one of the best things you can do for your plants. It keeps there from being any stagnant spots where junk sits and rots, and instead it all gets sucked up by the filter. I was having algae problems despite having good water parameters, CO2, and a good light schedule, and by adjusting my filter output and introducing a small pump, it took care of the algae.
This is such an old video and I doubt Dustin will see this but did you know that if you have a spray bar focused straight down at the top of a tank right at the water line floating plans will explode in growth as they all get sucked into that one spot. I 'accidentally' didnt top of an aquarium and it got down to my spray bar and I noticed insane roots growing
Croc hive assemble! Flow is so important. Finally found an elbow joint for my powerhead that kept a good flow going but increased surface agitation. My anubias and Hygrophila narrow leaf perked straight up! Also my cloud minnows swim in the new current setup endlessly.
Hi" Im new to this & want just a Tetra tank, so I looked up Tetra's. Then I came across you, sounds like you know what your talking about 🙂 I know you said 1 or 2 types of tetras max in one tank. I really like the Neon & Amber. Will this work ?
Those plants are coleus. I overwintered one in my house. They come in all sorts of colors and patterns. He should punch off those flowers to keep the plant fuller. Otherwise they get tall and leggy
I accidentally paused at 0:08, didn't look and went to get something to drink and almost spat my drink on the screen. Biggest mistake of the day. But, nice plant growth!
