Hello everyone. Hope you are having a good day. At the time of posting this we are having crazy good weather in the UK. It's so hot (for us anyway 🤣). Anyway, this tank has been empty for two long but I wanted to make sure I had everything perfect, both equipment wise and idea. Happy with how it's turned out and can really visualise what it will look like in the next month. We've got a little mini co2 system just to give us a boost whilst everything is settling in. Also I added a few fish to keep that filter cycle going as it has been running for months. Just a few....we will obviously be adding a lot more in a later video so make sure you are subscribed and notifications on for that one!!! Nice one guys 😊

Not sure if I said this already...getting old means repeating things sometimes. But,you should explore dioramas..museum like background photos of above water habitats..and then go crazy on wood or dried leaves as leading into the "pond" "stream". Watch vids those acrylic artists make on ponds or water frozen in clear acrylic..with realistic fish inside the water. Amazing at what they can do.

seriously recommend a good school of tiger barbs. around 20. clown loaches go amazing with them aswell and don’t worry about the ‘pros’s that say clowns are too big for that tank. it will take them about 5 years to grow ‘too big’ for that tank. ive got a planted tank exactly that size with 20 tiger barbs (different colour variations) and 5 clown loaches. been in there for 2 years and they are all loving it

I like the scape a lot, fantastic work! One small criticism is that I’ve noticed that sometimes when you work with textured rocks you don’t align the striation of the rocks and I think it can really take away from the aesthetic of the scape in some cases. Please don’t hate me for the comment it’s just feedback and coming from a good place, not trying to be a hater. On a side note I’m glad you are getting away from the round river rocks and going with something new! Love it!!! One thing I’d love to see in the future is a bioscape where you try to source everything from a particular region like maybe Thailand or something and decorate the scape accordingly.
@MDFishTanks
@MDFishTanks 4 года назад
no hate lol. I just dont like to follow all the traditional rules. I think rock direction and shape comes before striation . I'm not worried about the small details. Rocks will be covered in plants in no time anyway haha.

carpeting plants struggle in sand even with nutrients below so i hope for your success but if it doesnt work out in the end its due to the sand not allowing enough room for carpeting plants to root easy strongest hardscape layout you have done looks great keep us updated on plant growth hope it works MD :)

Fantastic video as usual, MD, and I'm finding it very therapeutic amid these COVID-19 woes to watch your aquascaping and your gorgeous aquariums that are very inspirational. Bravo! :)

Looks awesome! Once the tank is cycled a bigger school of harlequin rasboras would look awesome and maybe a chocolate gourami as a centre piece fish? Also bamboo shrimp are cool (and Asian) actually I believe all neocardinia shrimp and cardinia shrimp also are all Asian, I’d say consider getting some bamboo, amano, and some neo varieties and some crs/cbs as well. Keep it up! Much love from the Netherlands!

This is an incredible build. Love driftwood, dragon stone together 😍 I wish I had your talent for design. I have 2 4 ft tanks and want to tear them down and start over now 😂. Ordered 2 of those lights 👍
