Thanks for the update on the Odessa's, I was one of the people asking! The males are stunning, especially the two with darker scales which is a lovely contrast against the red stripe. Mine are nowhere near as colourful unfortunately - I may only have females (8). They are still young so hopefully their colour will improve with age.
What is that sound? It sounds like a bunch of hamsters or guinea pigs?🤣 Birds? 🐦 ...love your videos. We have a tank and a deck pond, and when I found your channel I got hooked and now just watch and learn and it's all very entertaining.
Just stunning 😀😀@MDFishTanks do you have any tanks with CPD's in them ? they are such a beautiful fish and it would be great to see them in their own scape ? maybe put it on the list :) I have just added a heap of juveniles to my indonesian forest style scape so they are not coloured up yet but when they do it will hopefully look beast 😀
The two remaining pearl gourami are boys. The one that died was female. That is quiet a small tank for three, the males can get very aggressive with the girls when they want to breed.
Hey MD, don't think you'll see this but I've also kept Pearl Gourami and had the same issue. It seems like both of your remaining ones ae male and likely killed the other one, you might need to separate the remaining two
The part you said about the substrate being way more important then the light is spot on my plants kept dying I got a light they stopped dying but would not grow why because my substrate was corse quarts gravle the substrate had no nutriants and the fish poop would not catch inside and would be at the very bottom of it so the plants could'nt absorb the stuff if you can't find a nutrient substrait make shure you make it fine sand with small gravle 3 to 4 mm of corse level and if you can get some clay put some of that in as well it's better then nothing
My dream tank is to get the biggest damn tank feasible and just make an Amazon river tank with hundreds of ciclids and just breath while i watch them forever but i will never be able to afford that so a 2000gal tank sounds more fesable and just as fun
I love how your enthusiasm has never waned and, indeed, seems stronger than ever. It's one of the factors that makes your content so enjoyable. Thanks MD!
Great update video. Always enjoy your videos. I’ve got some electric blue Acara too, and it does seem like they’re just breeding machines. I ended up pulling the eggs with the mom into another tank and they’re doing well and growing quite a few little babies but now the dad has gone and started an affair with another female in the main tank and we have another set of eggs! Will you just let nature take its course this time with the Acara or will you try and move the babies into a new tank?
Both of those pearl gouramis look like males to me. The third one that died I thought was a female. The ladies don’t really get any orange. The two males together in that small tank is going to result in a lot of stress on the smaller male- I suggest splitting them up and maybe trying to find a few females.
Hi. Do you get whip tail plecos? I'm building a 3ft planted tank for the first time and I've been told whip tails are better in planted tanks than Bristol nose ones.
