AR-RPK= Klein Machining's Support Fire Upper 

I've always been an AKM type of guy, but this is an AR I'd be willing to drop $$ on.

Light primary strikes are common with import comblock ammo. An enhanced firing pin worked for my CMMG in 7.63x39 using wolf ammo. Its simply just a deeper poke into the primer.

That bit with the hip fire at the start was just sublime. I need to make more friends so I can assign one of these to somebody 😅

Just found your channel, been pining for an easy new build project I can do without rivets or welding and I've been toying with the idea of this concept in my head the past few weeks. Your rifle here is functionally what I was envisioning, 24" bull barrel with 40s and drums, only differing in aesthetics. I didn't think I would find a barrel like that available so quickly. Good to see the rifle is pretty fuckin' rad.

I got one of his early ones with the 1-8 twist and RPK bipods. Currently my go to rifle and my favorite AR by far.

Fostech Echo trigger is more appropriate for this type of upper…. The Franklin really requires tuning cycle rate… The advantage of the Franklin is it can go in non AR designs such as the BRN-180…. In the BRN the Franklin works great for 2 rd burst..essentially you get a 4rd “controlled pair”.

I love this concept. I'm partial to RRH's RECCE LMG, but the LMG with uppers you can switch out to manage heat is right up there. If the price is half of what a RRH upper would be I'd say that's pretty ingenious. I haven't gotten that far yet.

I have another trick for you! If you take some thin cord and tie it to feet of your bipod and pull cord down to deploy it or close it. It helps with fast deployment and stand to ground drills.

Check your firing pin protrusion. Sometimes, that's the culprit with light primer strikes.

Only thing I could think to improve this would be fluting on the barrel, would save several ounces if not pounds on a barrel like that and increase surface area for heat dissipation. I wonder if that would be a net positive.

I think barrel mounted bipod gives you a more stable platform much like all of the m249/m240 I also would be interested to see a bipod mounted yo the top of the handguard like you see on some prs set ups but barrel mounted seems to give the best stability/control in my experience

Might not be necessary but possibly the Aero Enhanced uppers barrel nut would be good for the heavy barrel. Possibly more arrive or stronger. I think you could get a carbon hand guard. If you get the Fostech Echo they have enhancement springs for the trigger on gunbroker. Also I would think the Vltor A5 or Rifle A1 buffer system would be better than a normal carbine.

I got one with the rpk bipod I bought a carry handle online but wouldn't mind getting the heavy duty carry handle Love it shoots great need to load the drum and see how it works at distance

I’ve been looking at getting one myself after using one at 1 Shepherd. I’ve just been debating whether it’s better to use the fostech binary trigger or to use a geissele ssa trigger for reliability. I know the binary triggers can be finicky, I’ve seen problems with them while training especially with guys under stress. But the fun switch is really tempting.

This upper would be immediately compared to the Red Right Hand Recce LMG upper. My big question is how this would run if you added a suppressor, assuming you could as it looks like the bipod is in the way of having a solid attachment point with a suppressor. You already mentioned the gas issue, which the adjustable gas block the Recce LMG comes with would solve for the most part. The other thing is that Red Right Hand offers a free-float quad rail option, which sidesteps the problem of attaching things to the handguard and running into the barrel. And the Recce LMG is being offered for a very similar price by about 200-300 dollars more. Which if you're dropping 1,100+ dollars on the Klien AR-PK then it would make sense to save another 300 bucks to just get the RRH Recce upper instead because the features/quality of life features are a whole lot better. If you can attach a suppressor and put on an adjustable gas block so it can run whatever garbage you want to feed it, then I'd argue that this upper would be a better "bang for your buck".

Having the bipod on the end of the barrel increases your cone of fire. Which is a good thing on an area denial weapon. Is it 100% a requirement? Probably not when you have a 13 man squad of RPK equivalent armed soldiers. As for it affecting accuracy? Yeah maybe but that is no way the purpose of this platform and is not affecting accuracy to the extent that you cant place effective fire within acceptable parameters of the 5.56.

Bipod is cool, but not really practical. I'd rather have a modern bipod closer to my foregrip, so all that mass isn't at the end of barrel.

Your BDC won't follow the factory settings. Your real power M193 should be booking at 3400fps, maybe 3300fps, and that will behave differently and have a flatter trajectory.

you ppl are worried about muzzle climb from a 5.56 Nato, go shoot some 308 the same way and build up them baby AR arms, I got little Raptor arms and girly hands and i dont even notice muzzle climb from my AKM and you boi's say they buck around.

Not having beefy upper w beefy barrel smh you need vltor MUR upper or 7075 thick billet upper for that heavy barrel. Mil-spec forged upper isnt meant to handle that weight.

Over priced for a bull barrel with a machined cut out for a bipod. Wanting $1100 for that barreled upper alone is delusional.
