From what I have read and seen, the gamers, the air soft shooters and the air rifle gunners have increased the interest in firearms. New gun owners in our country usually come from these three groups. They are avid supporters of gun ownership. Keep up the good work Jason !!
Thank you so much and I would definitely tend to agree with you. I think these different groups of people create new excitement and interest in what the firearms community is doing. They may not always be buyers of new firearms but they do spend a lot of time researching them and learning about them for their own understanding.
Do what the CIA does with the AR57 rifles. Get a cheap, crappy and clear poly mag like the ETS. Don't ruin a Lancer or Pmag or other good quality poly mag. Use a Dremel to cut off the lips and remove internals. Now you have a mag catch. One 30 round mag will catch exactly 50 5.7 cases!
More respect for a man that makes his own way & not a corp shill. For some 30 years I've talked about using the mag well for the shell ejection. Now if we can get 5.56 × 45 in a mag that'll feed like the P90. Have a great day Jason.
This guy is really cool. I’m a gun guy, but i’m also a gamer when I have time. This gun jumped off the page to me when I was playing call of duty because of the unorthodox platform. I was like “This… could actually work” and boom here you are. Subbed 🤙🏼
Thank you so much! I greatly appreciate the support and please share with anyone interested. Have a new batch of full auto stuff coming in the next few weeks after we do some more filming, some of which are from various gaming platforms.
Im from the airsoft community, and i have an original Echo1 ar57 with licensed trademarks. Bought it back in 2015 and still have jt to this day, im upgrading the internals to keep up with modern day to day play. And i dont think I'll ever sell it or trade it, even in airsoft form it is a one of a kind toy and was discontinued when the comp went down the drain.
Thank you! That truly means a lot to me and I appreciate it. Growing any firearms business on social media these days is difficult at best. I got started right as YT changed a lot of their parameters so I just focus on doing something I love and whatever comes out of it will be an added bonus. Really appreciate people like you watching and sharing with others.
Hello, I watched this video because was playing MW2 right now and I ask myself if this gun really excited like in the game... And wow, what an interesting crossover of a firearm. I liked you commentary on it, pls go on like this👍
Always appreciate your videos, my son watches them too! A PSA for kids coming from airsoft and gaming, make sure you always wear your ear protection even when shooting suppressed, and even when the firearm/can combo is considered hearing safe on paper (meaning below 140db, so not the case for the ar57, that also has the infamous supersonic crack), I got tinnitus in my youth and it never goes away, stay safe and have fun at the range!
Great advice! You will notice I always wear hearing protection even when shooting suppressed. Depending on the caliber, some rounds are hearing safe but some are not.
Thanks for the video. As a fellow veteran who shot the AR platform plenty and a gamer (who found this video because of) this is a great video and appreciate the content!!! I love the AR platform and great see a submachine setup, this looks super easy to use and they are all amazing guns. Also, FSS Hurricane is a stupid name, much rather see AR-57 but legal issues 😂😅
Love this video concept man. I've actually been cerakoting and building my firearms to match what COD weapons i use in game. The fact that you are doing this for those less knowledgeable about firearms us great as well as the ingenuity of this particular firearm. Not gonna lie here, the fss hurricane or ar57 is my next planned purchase!
I love your channel and what you do. In reality most of us will never have an opportunity to even come close to the majority of firearms you feature. As an aficionado of fine firearms I am able to experience them through you and your efforts. Thank you
was today years old when I found out about this gun. I saw it in cod video and thought it was some crazy gaming mash up weapon they put in. super cool, and good info on your video 👍
Wonderful video on the gun! Known about it for a while but epic to see it get some recent love. Would love to see some gamers and you collab with some real life shooting!
That’s awesome that it’s a 5.7!! I jokingly described this gun to my friend as ar-15 with a p90 magazine because even though I love guns I don’t know all the terminology, so I know there’s a technical term for that type of magazine but I don’t know it. Which is why I called it an ar-15 with a p90 magazine, but I didn’t know it was actually a p90 magazine lol
Great video, here’s my honest 2 cents as a viewer I would start the video out with the clip of the suppressed mag dump or a short shooting montage as a strong hook to get those with a lesser attention span engaged, especially the youth which is your most impactful audience. From there I would lead into a brief intro commentary and then get into a quick rundown on some of the mechanics and features of the rifle. Carry on with the rest of your prepared material and maybe sandwich in some beauty shots of the rifle or some B Roll of where you’re shooting as it’s easy to get bored watching a stationary man talk. Wrap up with your honest opinions on the rifle A little re ordering of the already shot material can go a long way with keeping your watch duration high
My first experience with this gun was in the anime Sword Art online. Found it odd but cool from the start. Wasn’t sure it was real or just something the animators cooked up at the time.
I really appreciate it! Welcome to the channel and please share with those that would be interested and let me know if there is anything I can do to make it better.
The Signal 50 is called the GM6 Lynx in real life. I had the opportunity to shoot one when it first came out, but current price tag is about $25-30k so I most likely won’t be buying one any time soon! Thanks for watching and I hope you enjoy the channel!
Did you have to modify the mags any? I have an AR57 and are having a time with it jamming the bullet back into the case. Its hitting at the top of the barrel. I'm using AR57 and FN mags using Green tips FN's and Federal ammo. Any incite would be great! Thanks
I don't know why UTG changed the upper... it could be for legal reasons and a necessity to create the AR57 again, or it could be because they thought it was a good idea. The two issues I have with the new vs old are the barrel and bolt carrier/ charging handle configuration. The barrel on the older model is a heavier weight barrel whereas the new upper is a lightweight, thin barrel. Since I am shooting full auto through both barrel lengths, I prefer this, but I typically prefer it even in semi auto as there is less of a chance of damage if you hit the barrel on something and it dissipates heat faster with more surface area. The second issue, and the one that bothered me more, is the bolt carrier and charging handle and how the two mate. On the old one, there is a pin that mates with the bolt carrier when you pull on it, and the charging handle is a robust knob which gives good purchase and a solid pull. The new on uses a APC9 style charging handle that is attached to a flexible guide rode which creates a fulcrum at the wrong place, essentially causing the guide bar to bind when you pull the charging handle back. The bolt carrier itself mates with the charging handle with a standard Phillips head screw that, in the upper I bought, was actually too long and scraped against the upper creating metal against metal friction and caused failure to feed and failure to eject issues. I could file the screw down, and find a better way to improve the charging handle, but in the end I opted to buy one of the older complete guns with a 16" barrel just to get the upper receiver. It was a lot more money, but more aligned with what I wanted. I still have the new upper and may at some point try and get it to work, but it seems like a lot of effort for a nearly $1K upper that should have worked out of the box. Hope that helps answer your question. If my answer was confusing, I am happy to send you pictures of the two. You can email me at legacyarmsintl@gmail.com
So I have one of the old guns like you have in this video. Is this company really back in business? I’m interested to see what they have going on, but the old website and Facebook page doesn’t have any updates. 🤷♂️ Do they have a new name or something?
The company has not been reopened, but rather the upper is being licensed to a new company… UTM. I don’t know if they are making complete guns or just the uppers, but when they first came out I bought one and am not a fan. New bolt carrier/ charging handle configuration that binds a lot and a thin barrel. Also, new magazine release setup that I am not much of a fan of but that is more personal preference.
It is made as a semi-automatic upper receiver. The company that made complete rifles went out of business so the full auto bolt carriers are no longer made.
This is a Gen 1 upper and I completely agree with you. Very disappointed with the new UTM uppers in terms of charging handle and barrels. I own a few different Gen 1 and Gen 2 uppers and find them to be much better than the newer ones.
@@LegacyArmsIntl ended up buying what I could find this morning: ULT. I guess you can call it a “Gen 4” being newer and a tad different than the Gen 3. I’ll take a look at it when I get it, but I assume it’s gotta be held in with a bolt of some sort. I’ll weigh my options for a custom charging handle when I dissect how it’s mounted. I do like the fact that I can swap the charging handle to the other side though. Im just happy to finally have one tbh.
The rounds are stacked sideways to allow for better storage. There is a rotating feed mechanism at the end of the magazine the rotates the round 90 degrees before the bolt carrier loads it into the chamber. It is a pretty ingenious system.
I honestly don’t know for either of your questions. Regarding the stock question my instinct is to say that any folding system that still allows for the buffer and spring to function would work fine. I have used those on ARs before but not on this gun. I have never used a binary trigger so I am just not personally that familiar with them, but my guess would be that because they engage the disconnector and hammer the same way a semi-auto would work then they should be fine. With the FA version I have they made a different carrier because of how it engages with the sear, but you don’t have a sear in a SA gun so it should function fine.
Hey thanks for getting back with me,in your video I assumed you had a binary on that AR-57 build ,was just wondering what trigger system you was running, but I definitely know you can run a Franklin binary with that 57 upper
No worries… I have over 100 full auto firearms so I have never played with the binary triggers. Sorry I couldn’t be of more help but I think you have it figured out on your own.
Yes thanks man that’s pretty nice that yow going to be putting that thing together where people can go out and shoot your full auto guns. That’s pretty nice to give people a feel of that would be awesome, thanks for sharing your content and looking forward to seeing more videos on the AR-57 build
I like the look and function of this rifle but if i was the design head i would have done something to the magwell, it just rubs me so wrong when i see a rifle shoot without a magazine in the bottom haha
I agree that it “looks” different, but in combat functionality trumps looks every single time. Despite some of the new colors and artwork being done on firearms these days, they are functional tools first and decorative art pieces second. I love the magwell ejection port as it dumps the brass at my feet where it doesn’t get in the way.
In concept it sounds good, but in reality it doesn’t really work. The P90 magazine that it feeds from holds 50 rounds. An AR mag holds 30 and event though the 5.7 case is smaller, it’s not that much smaller. In order to fit 30 cartridge cases in the magazine they would have to stack perfectly. Anything, such as a case that lands vertical, could interfere with the bolt and cause it to jam or misfeed. The idea sounds cool but in real life I have tried it and it didn’t work very well at all.
It was secured with Rockset and the best way to remove it is to soak in boiling water as it has a high heat resistance and so direct heat alone doesn’t always work. The heated water breaks down the material better.
Yes, the original company made a handful of FA carriers before they went out of business. I have two of them and rarely see them come up for sale but you do have to use a different carrier than the stock one when using the upper on a registered FA lower.
@@Unsername6785 I have two of these select fire guns, one short barreled version and one carbine length version so I am keeping both carriers otherwise I would definitely do that. I bought my first carrier from the company when they were still in business. Second one I found a few years later on GB, but paid 2k for it so just know when they do come up for sale they are pricey.
It has the same bolt catch system as an AR because it uses the AR lower receiver. The bolt catch is engaged by having the magazine follower push up on the bolt catch when there are no more rounds in the magazine which causes the bolt to lock to the rear. Because the AR57 feeds from the top and not through the magwell, there is no empty magazine to engage the bolt catch on this system. Whoever designed it decided that wasn’t a huge concern.
I knew a lot of good fps gamers who never touched a gun before and achieved expert marksmanship on thier 1st try. I think hand-eye coordination and recoil control must have conditioned them somehow. Idk.
