These might be silent. they use SUBSONIC bullets. with 400m range for such a munition, that is quite an accomplishment.

@@sargera1 Are you talking the bullet mass closer to 10mm or the cartridge size, the amount of propellant. The bigger round with more propellant dors not longer range make. 10mm was underperforming because it was under powered. 9mm was made popular on the battlefield by because of its optimal performance. Subsonic 9mm will fly farther than a subsonic heavier round. It is either subsonic or you get the echoing crack of the shot, and then you need a silencer to capture all of the gas that is produced by propellant or else it is not silenced. It is one thing with a small caliber pistol cartridge, it is something else with an assault rifle. Just how big is your silencer for a rifle cartridge to fly 400 meters? A fifty gallon drum? Besides, trained snipers have skills that make this type of equipment unnecessary.

@@sargera1 I'm not sure if there was a 30 rounds mag, I always saw a 10 and 20 rounds mag. I never got one in my hand so I don't know how it's balanced.

@@tadzturbo9579 Greetings to Lithuania. I'm a year late but i'd like to share a few things. You already know recoil is increased with muzzle energy. You push something forward hard and it pushes you back hard right? You also know at the same muzzle energy level, heavier projectile kicks harder. So when shooting bullets subsonic, there is a speed limit. It's 320 metre/second. This limit lowers muzzle energy very much even with the heaviest bullets. I love subsonics but they are not strong. There are 12.7mm giant subsonic calibers but their muzzle energy is still around the same as 5.56x45 or 7.62x39. It seems russians tried to make 9X39 as heavy as possible but the velocity, weight and muzzle enery is still around the same as a hot 45acp round. This means when shooting AS or VSS you are shooting pistol bullets out of a rifle. Recoil is pleasant and fun but how is it possible that this is a military rifle? First one is better aerodynamics. It flies better than 45acp. Second one is much better penetration. Thanks to its steel core, 9x39 has some armor piercing capability. It doesn't fly or penetrate as good as supersonic bullets but this is the price of going ''very quiet''. So you answer is, it is shooting 16 gram bullets very very slowly at around 750 joule. Non military 9x39 doesn't have steel core and they are perfect for lazy sunday plinking if you ask me =)

for the AS and VSS it is because the rounds travel below the speed of sound, but most suppressed guns are still quite loud
