Individual human acts of kindness are always appreciated. However, something is missing from the story. Its the "elephant in the room". How did Akram become a refugee and living so poorly in the first place? Do you care to shed some light on that part of the story? Could it be that his family was expelled from its original town or village in what became Israel in 1948? Do you think the same generosity would be extended to return him to his hometown/village and give him back his property? There is still hope.

I believe this story because I heard many similar stories from my relatives in Palestine who worked with Jewish Israelis. I wish that the state of Israel would be as honest as those Jews and give me back my grand-father's properties in Jaffa, or even compensate me for them.
