The distinction between political zionism and spiritual/cultural zionism is irrelevant today. The goal of spiritual zionism was to rejuvenate Jewish nationhood by building a hub for secular Jewish culture in the land of Israel. You are aware that genetically Palestinians are the ones who are the most similar to ancient Israelites and Canaanites and not the so called modern Jews that are not in Israel? Canaanites/Israelites all became modern day Palestinians, they have been the ones living there even before the biblical times.
