I know standard Arabic pretty well and I couldn't understand Arabs talking when I traveled to Arabic countries so I started learning the dialects to understand every day speech.
*MarHaba, barakallahfik akhi for this & all your youtube Arabic videos, particularty the Levantine dialect which is what I'm really trying to learn.Yikhlif alek.*
I just want to say that I have watched all of your post and they have been very helpful. I have been studying MSA for years. Now, through your sites, I'm am focusing on Lebanese dialect in which I hope to suprise my friends in lebanon next month. Thanks a million and I hope to see new and more post from you of the levanite dialect.
I agree 100%. I'm pretty sure that's the way it is already. Like, i don't think you can take a class and learn a certain dialect. Our language is already united. Arab are all tough using the standard arabic. That's the way all their textbooks are written. But it would be cool if we could all understand each other all the time :P
Thank you for your video sir, I suggest that you teach us the original arabic instead of the dialects. Because the current dialects had taken some words from other languages. Thank you again.
*'Awafi, can I use the imperative 'kib' when taking to a male/female/a group of people, and does 'bu' mean 'it' as in kibbu, & is 'bu' gender-neutral? Shukran.*
How did you learn Arabic? I am really interested in learning the language and want to get input on the best way to learn! Your videos are great, thanks!
Ya zelmi!! knowone is going to understand you on the street if you speak Modern Standard Arabic. Of course speak respectfully but Arabic slang is essential if you are to function adequately in the daily life in Arab countries.
