The Arai Corsair V has excellent venting. Another helmet to check out is the Nexx XR1R Caron helmet that also has great venting. When you select which helmet you would like, give our Gear Geeks a call to see if it can be shipped international. Some brands are excluded from shipping overseas. ~Ali
The Corsair V is made for more of a tucked riding position than you have on the 696. A Vector 2 or Signet-Q might be a better option for your aerodynamics. Also, the Arai Defiant is specifically made for riders of un-faired bikes. -CK
I just bought this helmet about a week ago, I absolutely love it and while the price is certainly higher than other helmets on the market, it pays for itself every single time I ride. I would recommend this product to anyone who rides frequently. Great video by the way.
When it comes to replica graphics, AGV is one of the best. I'm a big fan of Arai helmets, so if the Corsair V is a good fit for your head shape, that is the one I would recommend first. ~Ali
All street-legal helmets MUST have a DOT safety stamp in the US. In many cases the physical safety of the helmet does not change, but the technicality of the safety stamp is what makes it legal or illegal. -CK

I bought the Aoyama Corsair V for a very good price from Revzilla after the reviews. Sizing and fit are perfect. I am very happy with the venting because I live in Texas and it is hot here! Thank you Revzilla for the great advice and super value on this awesome hemlet.
The Corsair V is my first helmet outside of an old Fulmer. I highly recommend this helmet, it is relatively light, peripheral vision is great too. Before I bought mine, I tried on a fair amount of helmets from different brands and Arai seemed to fit my head the best.
Have to say, these guys are awesome. Anthony has great videos and everyone else is super helpful. They even were patient with my silly beginner questions. They actually do take the mystery out of shopping online... I'd recommend them to anyone.
I'm currently stationed in Okinawa and just bought a Arai Rx-7 RR5. It looks just like a Corsair V in terms of design. Only difference is that it says "RX-7 RV" on the back of the helmet. Can you verify that this is the European/Japanese equivalent of a Corsair V? Thanks.
Hi, i have been watching all your videos and you helped me decide the type of helmet I bought, however I am stationed in Japan and I bought the Astron-IQ which looks exactly like the RX-Q. The only issue is that it does not have the DOT stamp, but it is snell approved. Not sure if it's still legal in the States for an everyday use. Any comments please. I did lots of research, but no solid answer found yet. Awesome vids by the way.
This Helmet is gorgeous. If only I wasn't a college student and could afford to protect my head with this type of advanced technology. What is the best helmet that will provide a lot of protection for a student on a budget. My friend dropped my helmet and I have to get a new one.
Arai should really include 4 sets of shield holder/covers/whatever you want to call them with each helmet they sell. They break like clock work every 18 months. Arai and Shoei both make top notch helmets but Shoei is much more durable, quieter and seem to vent better. I go with Arai because their graphics are so much better and the helmet fits my head slight better. But I am tired of buying (and having to track down) shield holders. My next helmet will probably be a Shoei GT Air.
Why do you guys not sell this any more? Did Arai stop making them? Sure, it's not the top of the line race helmet anymore, but that doesn't mean it's not a good helmet. Now I have to find one on ebay or cycle gear.
Yes, it's a great helmet, but it's been discontinued and replaced by the Corsair-X. Since we've sold out of them and Arai doesn't have any more, it's no longer on the site. -DrewZilla
tgou007 I find both have excellent field of vision. The Pista GP has a few millimeters more vertical vision, but the Corsair V has better lower left and lower right peripheral vision, which is better for head checks (you see more when turning your head to look behind you). -DrewZilla
RevZilla hi revzilla. Coming from car racing and karting I wanted to ask about using racing helmets on bikes. Helmets like the gp6 or bell hp7. I know they have very small visors and view but do you think that would be something detrimental to riding? Thanks

Never, are you saying that the X12 isn't a good helmet? It's sure one of the best helmets you can buy on the market today. If I would pick a helmet for its looks I sure would've gone with some AGV helmet, but not, I picked my X12 because it fits perfect, it's the best i've tried and has amazing air flow.. =)
Seriouslly. I've stuck with shoei for awhile. Now I'm thinking arai rx-q and not 5--because "i'm not in that tucked position". ;) Only flaw I can clearly see... emergency tabs are too hidden... and I still think shoeis look cooler :P
The helmet just doesn't look good to me, the air thing on top looks weird, im sure the helmet is awesome, but i dont like the design, prefer my X12, and i have tried the arai!
Matt Ferrari Can you specify what you mean by headphone-ready? Even with the stock cheek pads, you can mount communicator speakers on the cheek pad base behind the removable cheek pad cover. Or, you can easily use in-ear headphones. -DrewZilla
Matt Ferrari Well technically, there is a cut-out around the ear, but it's covered by the cheek pad cover fabric. There's plenty of room to mount speakers on the hard foam cheek pad base under the cover. This area is right where your ears are, so it's ideal. -DrewZilla
I mounted my snowboard helmet speakers as a test fit and plenty of room with skull candy speakers which are thicker so the motorcycle helmet speakers will be fine thanks though i'll be ordering soon!
