It's confusing to pick which Helmet for Dual sports bike: Adventure VS Modular helmet. After going through your video and others, I chose modular primarily because In hot days when stopping, its easier to flip up to drink water and get more air to relieve the heat. Also from Arai helmet stand point rounder or oval helmets are best to absorb an impact during the crash. Which one do you prefer? Arai XD-4 or Corsair X ?

Thank you so very much for this demo! I have not owned an Arai since 1995 because I was terrified of the shield system! Shoei helmets are 10 times easier to use!

The old system was a bit tricky to figure out for some people. But once figured out (took me about 10 minutes) it was the easiest fastest visor change of any helmet I've ever seen. The new one is a big step backwards but unfortunately the lowest common denominator rules now days.

The new system irritates me. Wish they still did it the old way. I know I know some people couldn't figure it out, but once you did it was a 2-3 second visor change. So easy. If you knew how to do it the old way it makes the new one look ridiculous. Oh well. I've held out for a while but unless they change it back, my next will unfortunately have this system.

The previous system worked just fine, too, as it has on pretty much all the Arais I've owned since 1980.

On my Corsair V, the visor release levers didn't always pop forward and that was a hassle, too. Arai said the new system is better at visor retention during accidents and the shell is overall better at glancing off impacts. I know they are constantly evolving helmet safety.

Makes me like my bell star just that much more. Doesnt get any easier than the mechanism on the star. I never need to change the shield because it comes with a transitions shield but it does make cleaning it that much easier.

Where are Bell Stars made?
