That is going to be a real environmental crisis in the near future. The Colorado River empties into the Gulf of California in northwestern Mexico but now has been reduced to a couple trickles thanks to modern man's greed and shortsightedness.

If it’s not the result of mismanagement of a morally bankrupt socialist system, it’ll be by natural means. I think the questions to ask is "How long has the Aral Sea existed?""What checks and balances were in to measure by It's existence and are now unchecked and unbalanced? Not just in relation to humanity but all species as a whole?To say that "All is better without the Aral Sea than they were with the Aral Sea", is in my mind like saying,"I know that the earth is flat because everytime I put a hand ful of ants on my kids basketball they all fall off especially when I spin it. So why are we not flying off in all directions.Damn good thing that the earth is flat!" To think that humans have caused a whole sea to dissapear should scare the shit out of any who hear of it.History has shown that everytime Humanity has attempted to alter the Earth/Enviroment in any large scale way ,, in the long run there have been large prices to pay .Humanity has not yet learned the definition of "The long run" Our "Great great great Grand Children" might learn it though. no bro that's not easy to return because 50 years ago this sea was feed by 2 huge rivers amu daria and sir dariya. But today thes rivers are migrated elsewhere. So thats not possible. But they could save the north part of the sea. So that's what they are saying..

10babiscar Solar is really cheap, and the poorer the road and power infrastructure is, the more competitive solar becomes. Especially in countries that don't tariff Chinese solar panels.

I really doubt that it's cheap but i don't know the prices off hand. I do know that they are expensive to buy in Australia (maybe due to taxes you mentioned). You also need to consider that expensive batteries will be required if a large proportion of the energy comes from solar.

@@jigminidup2406, I was taught that a lake has an outlet to the ocean or to a sea while a sea does not. However there are parts of the oceans that are called seas. So, I see my sea definition is not quite right.

@@jackw97224 Exactly the opposite. A lake does not have an opening. However, for Aral sea, Caspian sea, etc... there are a lot of political reason to be called a sea while it's a lake. @@WJack97224 Nice research. But I think there is more to it than just the definition. While the ancient people thought it to be a sea or ocean due to its vastness, the term have been carried on till date due to my aforementioned political reasons. This has even been discussed in the United Nations but it was decided to be called a sea rather than a lake which it actual was. The reason being, since it's called a sea all countries surrounding it gets equal proportion of the area proportional to its area stretching the sea. Now if it's a lake, the countries get smaller proportion due to international water laws. This will create a vast space of international water space in the middle which all countries will try to claim for its fishing and oil extraction rights. Nobody wants that coz it will be a cause of another international war zone. For this reason, it was decided not to alter the term and carry forward as per the mistakes of ancient explorers. This is just my view. That said, again, this is just my view and I have been wrong many times before. Cheers dude.

The Amu Darya and Syr Darya rivers naturally filled up the Aral Sea from glaciers in the Tian Shan mountains. The Aral Sea would've taken hundreds, maybe even thousands of years to dry up if it did naturally. When the Soviets decided to reroute the water during Stalin's rule, this sped up the process incredibly. Not even a century later the Sea is only a fraction to what it is now because of people tampering with the rivers.

Wrong... The aral sea provided thousands of jobs and livelyhood in the fishing industry. They had processing plants, harbors and fishing vessels, people had good lives bc of the sea.

@Livin Vidz no you are the one who is not very bright. Draining the Aral Sea was immoral and an environmental disaster that did more harm than good and has made that region drier and more arid. Those irrigation canals needed to be restricted from taking all the fresh water out both major rivers. Growing water intense crops like rice and cotton should not be permitted in arid regions like this basin in Asia. The Aral Sea was an abundant source of food and fresh water for the people in its immediate vicinity. You need to wake up and realize that modern man was wrong for draining the Aral Sea's water sources. There was no legitimate need for them to steal all that water. You cant eat cotton and it is a lousy uncomfortable fabric anyways. They could have taken only half the fresh water to irrigate and still have vital agriculture providing that they dont grow water intense crops like cotton and rice which are not meant to be grown in both arid and semiarid regions in the first place.
