He is a jewel...I hope I am still that sharp and fit at his age...the wisdom of the sages. When we study botany, we realize our life is too short.

Why is it usually listed as inedible for the berries? Most folk medicine shows it's edible. Thank you!

What is the difference between American Spikenard (Aralia racemosa) and Nardostachyos aka Nardostachys Jatamansi or "Indian Spikenard"?

Hi Joe, can you share any information about how to collect and prepare American spikenard berries for propagation? I've got tons of invasive groundcover that I'm taking out gradually to replace with native plants here in Michigan. I have 3 spikenards that are extremely happy in their second year. And I'm looking for an affordable way to expand my population. I can't find any info online about how to care for the berries after harvest. (dry them out first? keep them wet? cold stratify or not? if so, for how long? etc.) Thank you!
