Franchement ,je n'aime pas la sonorité de ce trompettiste.Pour un pro ,c est leger je trouve.Toutes les audios disponibles sur RU-vid de ce trompettiste sont tres moyennes.Comment cela se fait il ,je suis sur que je ne suis pas le seul trompettiste a avoir cet avis.
Well, it’s Rafael Mendez playing these studies. Actually, you may be the only one to have that opinion, and it’s certainly valid as any other opinion one may have. However, I suspect you find fault because the playing doesn’t necessarily reflect current (2023) tastes in qualities of a trumpeter’s tone production. Mr. Mendez was an exceptionally influential, prodigious, and musically expressive trumpet player who possessed inestimable technical abilities and utter mastery of efficient and productive wind. While his tone may today be considered “bright” or “light”, I don’t find it even remotely possible to fault the precision and consistency of his single, double, triple, or mixed tonguing, nor his musical sensitivities in demonstrating the techniques applied that bring these exercises to life.
