Easily the best Pac Man clone ever produced. Hard to even consider it a clone, it adds things into the mix that make this a completely different game. Ms Pac Man was the first arcade game I played as a kid (7 years) and I was hooked. I still love it, and the entire Pac Man franchise. I had Pac Man everything. Every week my mom would take me to the Mac's convenience on the corner and give me a dollar and I'd play Ms Pac Man. I got really good. She even got me the Coleco tabletop arcade Pac Man, and I was rolling over the score in that game pretty fast. My mom discovered an arcade just a few blocks further, and they had Ladybug. I had a new addiction. But even though I was good at Ms Pac Man, I completely misunderstood Ladybug. I didn't really understand that until RU-vid. I played it like Pac Man...and it is really a complicated game of laying traps and manipulation. And I think a lot of people also misunderstood it. It deserved to be one of those games that was an arcade staple well into the 90s. And I think the team on Super Pac Man misunderstood it as well, because that plays like a challenge to a poorly understood Ladybug.
That's not a clone at all. Clone is a blatant copy; this is an original game. The only similarity is that both are maze games and the player controls a character who eats something. All the rest is different, therefore it doesn't qualify as clone.
There was a convenience store close to my house back in the late 80s that served Chinese/Vietnamese food, south Beaumont Tx. I would get sent there all the time by my mom with food stamps to get her a hershey bar ,funyuns, and DR Pepper. She would almost always let me keep the change, as long as I spent some of it to buy her cigarettes and a newspaper. Sometimes they would just give me full change in real cash, lol. I think they knew if they did that it would save them the trouble of me doing the stamp/change hustle. They had this game, Pacman, Tron, Joust, BumpNJump, Spy Hunter, etc. But I always liked this one best for some reason. God I sucked at it, but it kept me inside off the streets and entertained in the AC on them brutal Texas summer days.
I play LadyBug a lot, usually around 20 times every night, and I wouldn't do most of your moves. But since I only got to score 190,000 and you over 400,000 I guess I should watch and learn. Very good playing strategy.
Yup, after watching you play this, I've become my mother by screaming every time they got close to you! She used to do that when I was playing in the arcade way back then LOL!!
Thanks for uploading. Your gatekeeping is really weird compared to my 'system'. Anyway, great score! I have made 438,940 on level 21. From Red Pepper onwards luck plays a certain part, I think. I try to point press as much as possible getting at least 20K in each round.
I also had a hard time controlling :) From level 17 or higher, hero die very easily with a short moment delay. It would be great play if one can withstand more than 4 levels at high levels with one bug,
seriously you must have the best joystick in the whole world..the amount of 10ps this game had swallowed just to get an "EXTRA guy" let alone going for that middle fruit all the time..man you goood
About 10 years ago I saw a player that recoreded over 1000000 score(perhaps about 1300000...).Unfortunately, the game can not leave more than 1000000 score so cleared rounds will should have been recorded.Maybe you know cleared rounds counted stop at 99.Good luck!
But I don't understand is, why this guy kept repeatedly passing up the opportunity to get a yellow T, and get himself an extra man, in the later stages!
Personally, between my generally good ability to play maze games, and the EXTRA and SPECIAL options, I could make an entire day out of putting a single quarter into a Ladybug machine.
No, you wouldn't, because if you started a new game using the credit you had won by "special", you would never be able to complete "special" again. The random generator would never allow the last remaining letter to be in the 3. In the cabinet I played there was also another one: if you lost a life in stage 1, you would never complete "Extra".
@@giovanni_7191 While it has been *literally* almost 40 years since I played Ladybug, I don't remember running into either of those problems at the laundromat where I played the game just to get out of my stepmother's hair as she washed the clothes.
From the Wikipedia article, you get a free game credit. From ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-X0h_X4wlcvc.html ... you also get a little chapel scene and skip to the end of the level. Neither are desirable here (points-wise) so I can see why the player skips it. In the ColecoVision version if you complete "SPECIAL" you're transported to a bonus "vegetable harvest" bonus level where you try to eat veggies in the maze before a timer runs out.
@@lucianlandry8332 Thank you for your response, so i realised once i got the word out, it was a waste of time on a machine i have at home on free credits..lol....however i noticed if I dont chase the SPECIAL...the game tends to hold back on a yellow letter i need to complete for an extra ladybug.
