**READ FOR MORE IMPORTANT DETAILS***
Sega Naomi 1 has a big GD rom library as well and uses the Dimmboard and Gd rom drive
Sega Naomi 2 CAN play both Naomi 1 and Naomi 2 Games and is the best system to get if trying to find a naomi
I/O Boards are sometimes referred to as JVS boards as well.
The capcom I/O will work for the Naomi, Naomi 2, Triforce, and Chihiro
The capcom I/O has the power to run the Naomi or Triforce or Chihiro hardware but not both the system and the GD ROM drive. If you are trying to run both the system and the Gd rom drive you will need a sega power supply or you will need to fabricate a power supply to work for it from an old ATX Power supply.
Sega Lindbergh needs an external sega lindbergh dvd drive to install the game on the internal hard drive to store the game. similar looking chips to the naomi, chihiro, triforce but only Lindbergh Yellow Games will work on Lindbergh Yellow and Lindbergh Red games on Lindbergh Red, be cautious on what you buy.
Prices on the various systems range from $200 for systems like the 246 on up to $900 for the Lindbergh. *This price is usually just the system itself** costs of the I/O, gd rom drive, cables, power supply etc will depend on the system but around $100 for each of the different parts give or take.
Generally the software will run you at minimum $50 for the easier and common titles to $400 for the more sought after titles. Be prepared to pay.
This type of system based hardware can be very expensive but worth it if you have the right games. With a Pc you can emulate some of this hardware but the real deal is going to give you perfect performance unlike a pc unless you have a pretty high end pc and flawless emulation.

A lot of amazing equipment you have for playing arcade games. Many memories made with friends spent playing in the arcades back in the 90's. With all the equipment you have you can re-live those memories, lucky you!! Great video by the way, very informative. With all due respect, and you keep up with well with all your stuff, but if it were me my mind would be fucked trying to keep up with it all.

I still think it's crazy how many of the games were ported and on systems that more or less matched in terms of performance.

Digging these older videos Luke. I just picked a Naomi 1 (just the white box and a tennis cartridge plugged into the top). No cables or anything. Your videos are helping me figure out what I have. :-)

Nice Video Luke, all your videos are fab. Naomis are great I just bought a 3rd one this week :) Confidental Mission Gun Cab, 1 for Xbox360\Virtua Teniis and 3rd one running NetDimm. Must try get a Capcom I/O so can get some jamma on them.

Great video, really enjoyed all of it and you need strong muscles to lift some if that gear. Apparently you can play some of the Chihiro stuff on a 128mb xbox debug kit like Virtua Cop 3. I have a debug kit so will look into that but nothing beats the original hardware like yours.

Very informative video, Luke! Arcade boards are really a jungle! Sega has released last year the Ringedge 2 hardware. I think is another "PC board" like the first one but I can't find many information on internet and I've never seen it in work in arcades...

I think the Naomi 2 game that you were trying to think of is "Club Kart," released in 2001. A Naomi arcade game that I'd love for you to cover is Sega's "Airline Pilots" released in 1999. I'm interested because I've played it in a local Dave & Busters numerous times. It uses three monitors though, so I don't know if you have the room to do a setup for it. STAY AWESOME! :)

nice vid ! slight correction though. A NetDimm is not used for streaming emulators, it's for loading game data via the network instead of using a GD-ROM, cartridge, or flash drive.

The Sega built arcade hardware is very nice I found it funny you showed the Wangan Midnight for the Chihiro I just had to order more save cards for 2 of them. Naomi and Naomi 2 had some of my favorites though like Crazy Taxi and Marvel vs Capcom 2. The Lindbergh was a awesome like Initial D stage 4 limited and the one I always wanted to see House of the Dead 4 special. We never got those cool Lindbergh attractions.

Excellent video.Great to learn so much about different arcade systems. It was really interesting to learn about the universal security chip for NAOMI 2 hardware.Is there anywhere you can recommend going for more information on this. Also, in your experience, what is the performance difference between NAOMI 2 and Dreamcast.Is there any noticeable differences between the arcade versions you play and the later dreamcast ports.I am interested in the games and setup as I am really into the dreamcast

hey man, your video made me wanna save up for my own boards in the future. I have a few quick questions though: 1. can the newer boards save your progress in games? 2. where can you buy the games and accessories for the board? (I know ebay but I wanna know if there's a dedicated website for selling these things) 3. the newest sega board (sega nu) just came out like a year ago. how long would you wager till these things go on sell and are available to the public?

hey Luke you ever look into getting any Sega model 2 games? The top earning arcade game of all time was on that platform, I'd be surprised if you don't have at least one game on that platform. The game I'm referring to of course is Daytona USA. That one is a true gem for arcade collectors for sure! Nice vid, please do more of these if you have other systems!

Great video Luke, awesome systems. Is there any chance we'll see some Sega model 2/3 hardware in the future? I'm a big Daytona USA fan but the systems have a LOT of variations and the hardware seems to be very finicky/fragile.
@COBOL
@COBOL 11 лет назад
PS2 was released before the System 246 that's is a derivative hardware made by Namco to optimize costs. So the Memory Card Holder on the PS2 DVD case is "only" a very clever design idea to carry the memory card along the games. For example to transport your GT4 garage to your friend's house... :)
@DaveDoc1984

Even though im not a big fan of emulation in honesty I am very interested in playing the Arcade Versions of Tekken 4 and Ridge Racer V being a big Ridge Racer fan. Ill have to look into Emulation as My PC is a High End machine so should cope with the System 246 Emulation (should it be possible). Not ideal but I havent got the cash nor the space at the moment to pick up the required Kit :( shame really. Awesome Video as ever Luke :)

Do all Naomi games require a disc like that? I found a board I never thought i'd ever seen but never even heard of a disc for it and thats a bit scary since the board I grabbed is one of only two ive seen and the only one that was for sale.

wow so chihiro was based on the XBOX? dang too bad there weren't more sega home ports (though they did get HotD 3 as I recall) Wangan Midnight would've been cool, wished that one had gotten a home port too! Great video though very informative... I'd heard of most of these but never actually seen them in the flesh!
