I am really glad could help, I am trying my best to spread as much information on these rather obscure arcade systems.

@@thegamenexus160 it's appreciated, and I think it's an untapped mine of content. I'm shocked how little video content is out there when the consoles are so exhaustively covered. It's also an integral part of the history of the consoles that's totally ignored. The story of Namco versus Sega in the arcades had a massive effect on the entire industry.

Yeah, I am still reuploading some of the arcade videos but new videos should be coming fairly soon as far as the arcade stuff goes.

Great video, I loved the detail! So I'm looking for a setup with the least mess, could I plug a naomi power supply in JVS-style with the namco JAMMA I/O board? I have the 6-8 pin adapter. I understand that if you don't have an I/O board plugged in it won't run, is that right? Also, exactly which model is the power supply in part 1? In part 2? All the best!

Good to see someone delving into the Namco Magic Gate .Ive got a 246 c that was booting up the game but now it starts to boot gets to movtex in bootup and doesn't jump to the game.It just continues with a repeat of movtex down the screen.Any idea as to what is going on there, Is it a system crash or i have yet to try setting the dips which thanks i now know what there designations are.

I just got myself a Tekken 4 arcade unit! It came with the Namco 246! I really want to learn on how to work on these systems!! Where have you gone to learn all of these things? I am trying to get this unit up and running

I can honestly say, there is no one place I went to learn all this stuff, basically I pieced it together from various sources such as message boards, facebook groups and youtube videos. Especially if you are just trying to hook the stuff up to your tv and play it like I do, there is really no definitive source for that.

Hey man, been trying to track you down via my video comments. Finally made it. Been meaning to ask what speed you're burning your disks at? I've made a backup of my Dragonball Z and the audio/video is running super slow. I'm chalking it up to write speeds

as for ejecting the disk. I really don't recommend ejecting with the power on. I'm backing up Dragonball because the system spat the disk out still spinning and scratched a ring into it. Thankfully, the disk still works. I use the manual eject with power off.

When I was modding the game with my Soul Calibur 2 mods I had done, I used DVD-RW discs that only burned at 4x. That worked fine, Other than that bit of experimentation, I did not ever burn a 246/256 disc. As far as ejecting the disc, you should only do it at boot time before the game is full running, otherwise the system may be spinning the disc really fast. Plus if you swapped dongles already (to switch games), the disc wont be spun up much when the system realizes there is a mismatch.

Wow que locura. Muy interesante el vídeo. Pregunta Los juegos en dvd eran versiones diferentes a las de PS2 o las mismas?
@thegamenexus160
@thegamenexus160 2 года назад
The games on the system were usually different in at least a few ways compared to the ps2 versions. Sometimes the arcade versions had different features. Poor google translate translation: Los juegos en el sistema generalmente eran diferentes en al menos algunas formas en comparación con las versiones de ps2. A veces, las versiones arcade tenían características diferentes.

What if I'm not getting any display or sound on jamma cabnet
@thegamenexus160

Usually that means you are not supplying the System 246 with enough power as its a very power Hungary system, You may want to test the voltages at the connector on the front of the system.
