This game's design has always blown my mind... the colors, the scenarios... pure SNK quality and originality, there's no SF influence at all, its all SNK greatness, my fave BGM and stage has always been King's with the Halloween theme.
I always wanted to see Mr. Big to fry the Arse of his boss but never succeed. BTW, learning the end of this story leading to Terry and Andy's journey of vengeance got me excited.
this game is well done, has a wealth of very interesting details for the time. According to the history of the game it seems that the story takes place 10 years before the first episode of fatal fury, that is part of the same universe as Fatal Fury.
This game was not meant to be beaten. It was designed by Satan himself to torture fighting game lovers not only physically (thumbs) but mentally as well (breaking your spirit by allowing you to pass the first stage and giving you hope then destroying it). So my question to you must be..... are you God, sir?
Thanks for sharing that. I've never won a single fight in this game. Not one. The computer is just impossibly hard, or perhaps I'm not as good as I'd like to believe. It's nice to be able to see all the stages, the bonus rounds (the one where you knock down fat people is the best), and the funny end credits were terrific to see. Thanks a lot!
4:48 Ryo is a good man, because if my little sister was throwing her ass on me, and trying to booty bump me into oblivion, then there would be no way in hell I'd hold back! The kid gloves were coming off at that point.
5:07 Yay! I just beat up my sister! 12:42 Awright! I just kicked my old man's ass! 14:54 Woo-hoo! I just schooled an unemployed ex-basketball player! 23:54 !!!...Just SAYING that warrants an ass-kicking! I'm so glad the martial arts have taught me discipline, honor, self control, and respect for others!
I was wondering where the background from the second fight was from! I had seen it used in a number of downloadable backgrounds for other fighting games and never knew where it originated from.
This game is a piece of wonderful memories! I grew up playing cool games like this! thanks for the video pal! P.S: I think the chinese Lee is the same Lee from "Fighting history" by Data East. Compare them
Capcom vs SNK,Street Fighter vs Art of Fighting,Ryu vs Ryo,Ken vs Robert,Chun li vs King,Sakura vs Yuri,Guile vs John,M.Bison vs Wyler,Akuma vs Takuma,Sagat vs Mr.Big,Vega vs Lee,Balrog vs Micky,E.Honda vs Todo,Zangief vs Jack,Hokuto vs Kasumi,Ibuki vs Eiji,Eagle vs Rody.
15:14 Ryo: "What is this? You've bought a new car again? Whoa?" Robert: "Hey, you can't understand the coolness of a car like this." Robert is a rich guy living in a mansion that car he's driving looks like the Ferrari F50
I played this game, first stage ok, I can beat Ryo easily, 2nd stage ok, Yuri is not that Hard, stage 3,ok I can beat Jack, Stage 4, Damn, Lee is super fast. Game Over. I never beat Lee in the fourth stage, in Normal difficulty mode, and by normal I mean Level 4..,
***** Well, only the AOF crew would be older. KOF'94 is contemporary with Fatal Fury Special. But it's true that they're 2 timelines in the SNK Fighters, the "original" (The Last Blade, AOF, FF, Kizuna Encounter) and the KOF timeline where the AOF and FF cast are contemporaries and nobody seems to age at all as time goes by. :)
kah junn That one I'm not too sure. Indeed, Mai Shiranui appears in Gennan's ending (because both are Shiranui) but that's just a joke moment. I believe there's nothing that links Samurai Shodown to the timeline. In the other hand there will be no problem doing it since SS events predate The Last Blade for about 100 years. :)
Not sure if it's a setting I can change or if it's my monitor but the shadows flicker. I also find getting the shoryuken style uppercut a right bitch to pull off.
I know im generally a street fighter player myself and the first time i ever played this game for the first time the first round i was like fuuuuuck... totally different ball game.😂
all charactors(AI) have an attack pattern. what does it mean? oh yes,it means if you know their pattern you could break the chain and kick their ass with no sweat. it doesn't matter what level you're playing and this was a topic long ago about problem in AoF 1 and 2 for arcade player
I still can’t believe the fact that AOF 1 and 3 were the only games in the AOF series I beat except for AOF 2. There can LITERAL times where the CPU is ruining everything
I think Ryo was probably being sarcastic... I admit, King's dress style isn't very flattering.. But underneath that tux, she's all lady! (If you don't believe me, check out what happens when you finish her off with a fireball!)
@The100thAttempt It's so ridiculously hard I still can't believe it... @Jevgenos Given that the original creators of Art of Fighting created the first Street Fighter game as well, I'm not surprised.
I never thought, that I say this about any game, but the end credits are the best part :) (unlucky statement, because it suggests, that the game blows...but it doesn`t ;))
I hate hate Ryos jump kick from Art of Fighting 2 and beyond. Who jump kicks like that? He had a great jump kick in the first game. Robert extends his leg for more distance.
