What I love about those long plays is that there is someone that actually don't suck or it is very good at the game playing. The game is freaking great, such an underrated game.
I really enjoy the fact that the narrator is female and has such a calm voice. It's so unusual for a fighting game, but the contrast adds to the ninja theme and the seriousness of the fights.
Yeah I was just thinking how I like commentator not being the typical style, I thought it was a young boy. Either way it works, especially if a headache is afoot.
This game brought me back to the Arcade (along with Windjammers and Blazing Stars) and especially to the VS fighting genre. I then bought SFZ3 and later spent a lot of time on the KOF, Shamsho and Fatal Fury series ! Thanks Ninja Masters for bringing the spark back !
This game is BAD ASS! I discovered it by accident when a friend and me were playing mame at my house. We stumbled upon this game and played it for hours. BAD ASS!
AWESOME playthrough! You kept it simple when necessary and took out the CPU-AI at every turn! I beat the game a couple of time in the arcade with Kamui & Sasuke, but that was back in the 1990s when I almost made video arcades my 2nd home, LOL! Thanks for uploading this!
@Megared82 He was the man who came closest to uniting japan during its civil war era. he is generally seen as a "bad guy" in fiction because of the ruthless methods he used in battle.
Wait a minute...did dead or alive take some influences from this game too... one of the characters are named kasumi like in doa and ryu hayabusa has same throw like sasuke. By the way this looks like street fighter and movements are kinda same. Is this game from capcom?
where do i begin? 1: actually kasumi is just your regular ass ninja nickname you see as far as i know i might be wrong ninjas never used their birth names instead they used these nicknames like kasumi wich translates to mist in english, ryu:dragon or sometimes they used the part "maru" in it wich translates to boy or young adult example: rikimaru roughly translates to boy of the strength so no tecmo probably didn't take any inspiration from this game for the name of the most famous big-breasted sexy ninja of video games it's like if i take the name Marty for the name of my video game character just because there's a dude in an extremely famous 80s science fiction film called Marty 2:the izuna drop is probably an actually ninjutsu technique because it's like every freaking game that has ninjas in it has this move in it 3:no this game wasn't made by capcom it was made by the other famous 90s fighting games developer namely SNK know today as SNK playmore you know the guys who made metal slug and the king of fighters series you see back in the 90s when in the arcades the fighting games were the hot shit while capcom was realesing 9 millions versions of street fighter 2 SNK was milking out some fantastic fighting games one after another fatal fury, samurai showdown, king of fighters, world heroes you name it it's no wonder not many people know this game
Razor96 Thanks for information. Even if Kasumi is regular big breasted ninja, I love her as a character very much... about her looks and personality. She is difficult to play tho. :D
I remember playing street fighter in the 90's thinking. One day there will be fighting games with life like girls with bouncing boobs. Now when I play dead or alive 5 I say 'geez this games all about boobs, it sucks'. :P
Looks like fighting game version of Sengoku 3! The Sasuke dude looks a bad ass but when your design is based off a bad ass (Hiroyuki Sanada), you don't have a choice but to be one. What's with this Nobunoga guy?? Anything I've seen involving ninjas, this guy is in and he's always a bad guy. Was he like a big asshole or something??
I always wonder why many Neo Geo games like this go for 1 flat background plane (I know they are all sprites). Pretty sure the hardware could do 3 planes of background/sprite scrolling. I can understand games that use the zoom in/out feature being 1 background, but it seems like many stages on this (and other games) could easily have 2 or 3 planes of scrolling. Graphics are still gorgeous, no doubt, but sometimes I feel like the artists don't feel like being bothered with multiple planes of scrolling. Other games on Neo Geo use this multiple scroll planes a bunch, but some don't. Odd.
@conceitarturoAre you sure? Look at Terry Bogard, Ryo Sakazaki, Kyo Kusanagi. They have gotten upgrades and change their attires. Compare Terry from Fatal Fury Special to Garou: Mark of the Wolves.
