One of the best computer games ever. Samurais, ninjas, asian magic. In the late years of USSR, about in 1990, the playing machines was in every market with this game.
this concept of this game was awesome. switching between ghost worlds and spirits. neo-geo had some great arcade games for those of you who like the genre.
This game reminds me of "Big Trouble in Little China"... probably because they both use martial arts, black magic, necromancy and occult themes. Awesome game... Awesome movie!! \../ \../
I remember playing this game along time ago and my only wish was to find this. I didn't remember the name, but I searched for this everywhere. IMO, this is among the best beat'em'up games and this is so clever, imaginative, impressive stages and bosses. Why doesn't anyone remember this one, because this is more fun to me than Final Fight and Ninja Turtles! Oh well, thank you for bringing me back my memories!
This game had the best art direction of the series. Sengoku 2 had better-designed gameplay. Really wish that the third game of the series was actually worthy of the first two.
Do you know how long I was looking for this game? I couldn't remember the name for the life of me. I always heard people talking about Sengoku but never remembered what it was. I used to play this at a bowling alley where father used to live. I gotta get this and the sequels I haven't played.
Todos estos juegos, los jugue de niño, que recuerdos!!! echandole la fichita para jugarlo, en el centro, mientras mi mama compraba el mandado de la semana, con solo 5 pesos en aquel entonces, los jugaba.
This game has every Japanese urban legend in the book! It would've been better if the playable characters of Sengoku 1 & 2 were people of Japanese folklore like Ishikawa Goemon, Tomoe Gozen, Miyamoto Musashi, Sarutobi Sasuke and Emperor Jimu.
My brother and I used to play this in the arcade. I remember we loved this game. Unfortunately, it was on one of those "Multi-Game Arcade Consoles" so we never got very far because the game would end once time would run out.
just been playing this on MAME and i recognized one the sound effects. it sounds exactly like the head crab in HALF LIFE. i thought it maybe was a borrow from half life but this game wasd released on the arcade in 1991. you can hear it seconds into this video
There is, but is based on Shinto chanting, taiko drums and traditional japanese songs, which sometimes seems not to be heard due to sampling volume; there is a MASSIVE amount of it, that was very surprising in 1990...
