@@GeolyteGM a little wrong cuz it was made by the team of metal slug Edit: the game was developed by irem and not snk Kazumo kujo its creator used to work for Irem and made in the hunt and geo storm Later on they created a subsidiary known as nazca to make metal slug, the spiritual succesor to in the hunt and geo storm After that mr. Kujo never made another metal slug game but the crew decied to continue the franchise
@@MrCoconuts64_Lum69 and if you want to go even further, IN THE HUNT was based (spiritual sequel) from Sqoon, another shmup by Irem with an submarine as a player. The submarine in this game is called, Granvia F here in this game (not to be confused with Grandia) the name can be found on R-Type Tactics II. Now I am hype for R-Type Final 2! Kazuma Kujo continue with the R-Type franchise
Wow, there is an insane amount of detail in the graphics of this game. I love how everything is drawn. I just wish the music was better, or at least memorable. Other than that, this game is great.
I played this game for a bit while I was a young child. That boss has stayed with me ever since and is basically why i went searching for this game nearly 20 years later
Can Long I played the PS1 version, not the SNES one, and that marine colossus boss was in stage 3, and scared the hell out of me when I was a kid. Today I'm 24.
Funny because the first two are from the same company who made In the Hunt, and the designers of this game were the ones who moved on to make Metal Slug.
@@mathiastube4716 Imo Air Duel was basically the baby steps when it came to the music department for Metal Slug. Mission 3/10's theme from Air Duel is what led to the creation of Marine Diver, and Mission 2's music had a really small remix in MS2/MSX. Gunforce may have been the true baby steps for the Metal Slug series, Air Duel deserves a mention too when it comes to music since both had the same composer
Uno de los juegos mas complicados de todos los tiempos (y mas bonitos graficamente tambien) con un solo credito... mis felicitaciones al creador del video! :-0
Aside from the design the spirit of Metal Slug is in the gameplay. Such as the 5th boss. Where both the boss and the environment screw you over and themselves
It takes memorization, time and for me it helped to have no social engagements that might... Get in the way. I managed it with emulators in '04 or thereabouts for this game and for metal slug. The best part was actually hitting arcades when I'd mastered the emulation, and back then these games could still be found if you knew a decent arcade. So you'd hit that arcade at its busiest time, then beat the game on a quarter while the crowd multiplies.
Fun fact: If you play it without dying using only 1 coin, you actually get that ending in the video where you die :/ If you play the game normally, dying and using coins you escape normally at the ending Better die during the game than in the ending
I never knew what this games was called since I've only played this game once at a movie theater years ago. Now that I know what's it called, the artwork resembles a lot like Metal Slug.
The assistant part of the end credits(38:00) is a hidden message in Japanese disguised as a person's name. Translated into English, “I am the law and order of the world. Therefore, everything is mine, including the people who live in this sea and their blood. ”
P.S.The protagonist was neither a hero nor a savior. His true identity is someone who is driven by ambition and destroys the existing order. In a two-player game, after defeating the last enemy, a duel will begin between blood relatives 1P and 2P. The winner then declares himself master of the sea and the world. This is the meaning of the text and the true ending.
@@knyosh I see. I had to watch the 2 player ending here on RU-vid and you're right, the last playable moment is titled "Let's Fight", where you battle the other player. My interpretation is that those two warriors were made for this world at war, they are true killing machines that thrive in these circumstances. However, after the final boss is defeated, there are no other warriors to battle except each other. A bittersweet ending.
OK, wikipedia solved the mistery for me: "The game was developed by the team who would go on to create GunForce 2 for Irem and the Metal Slug series for SNK."
@@dellagustin Imagine that the captain of this submarine was actually a joung general Morden I mean the submarine model looks a lot like the submarine boss on metal slug 2/X
@@TauromOG That would make sense. Remember, Morden was once a Vice Admiral in the Regular Army until his defection to the Rebellion. That is according to the Metal Slug lore (or specifically, the Wiki).
My favourite moment is the Seabed Ruins level (22:32), with that mythical rock-man boss. At the end of that level you can see another huge statue in the background, but it looks different than the one we're running away from. So maybe these ruins have several of these statue creatures and this one became alive.
first of all check if the game came after that movie or before it and this game is part of a trilogy so if it was capitalizing on that movie the entire trilogy would be as well
Nop, is from Irem, the R-Type developers, but fun fact, the Metal Slug developers where behind this game, before the team development went to create Nazca Corporation (the company affiliate to the Metal Slug franchise which SNK owns now)
I don't understand, is this a "one hit death" kind of game ? Because sometimes it looks like the submarine is hit but doesen't blow up... or it just gets very close to the enemy projectiles ?
IN THE HUNT....
How did you set up an auto fire key that triggers simultaneously both buttons? I tried on MAME, but I did only associate 1 key to 1 button, then I created 2 auto-fire buttons, do you press 2 buttons at the time?
For the first time i played...i got the ending with using continues it seems different and it looks like the good end or what... can anybody answered what this difference between this ending...
one is were you die one is were you get celebrated as a hero one is were you murder your co op buddy and become the leader of the bad guys and the last one is were you and your co op buddy both die
