Arcade Longplay [753] Pyros 

My cousins had this in their basement when we were kids and despite being obsessed with it we could never beat the last level. Thanks for the closure 25 years later.

Genesis version (Wardner no Special) has a different second boss (6:42). It's a girl who turnes into a spider. It scared me as a kid, because in a few sprites she looked like a bloody mess, with legs growing from her ribs, it really looked creepy. I'm not kidding, check it out.

This was my first arcade experience. It was called Wardner here in Ireland. Great game would love to play it again

World/europe is named "Wardner" (no changes) This is the USA version The japanese is named "Wardner no mori" (has hiragana names instead to alphabet)

Maybe it's just me, but the playable character kind of looks like Eric Cartman...

I haven't seen pyros since 1988 use to play it at my local video store.

Nice to see Red Birb got some work here by being the sound of enemies taking damage.

"Wardner", which is what most other versions are called, is an archaic form of warden, as in jailer. But Pyros also fits, as in this game you're the firestarter, twisted firestarter (couldn't resist)

I keep waiting for this one to be released as part of Arcade Archives.

Oh wow it reminds me of Wonder Boy III: Dragon's Trap: levels/character designs and styles; the clouds firing lightening bolts; shops; the game's feeling.... Really I thought it was Wonder Boy in a darker side ^_^

This game was supposed to came out on the NES with American Sammy as it's publisher, but it was canceled before release.

I think I remember playing this arcade game! the crystal ball, fire as a weapon, & the cape thing REALLY seems familiar. So does the name of the game.

I like the music better in this version than in Wardner. I'm glad they took the time and effort for this U.S.A. version.

Played the shit outta this as a kid at the Taco Bueno in Bedford, TX, and actually did beat it once 🙌🏻

Just downloaded it sega genesis version..japenese. Not the best graphics as this one showed but it brings back memories. Thanks for the video. Now im just looking for the title of a space game i played ages ago..a man in a orange mechanical suit going from planet to planet to vanquish aliens..there were about 9 planets..lava ..ocean ..desert..etc..after you killed the boss you went to fight in space until you went to the next planet.

I loved this game as a kid. But I always died at 2:02. Could never figure out how to jump from vine to vine.

You probably don't know that you can use the fairy to kill some of the enemies. Just turn your back and let the enemies run into the fairy,
