Actually caitlyn comes from a very high status noble family and is looked down upon by her family for wanting to be an enforcer / detective Caitlyn's parents are jayce's patrons, meaning they speak for him at high scale events and use their status to get him privileges he wouldnt get otherwise

Cates parents probably would have loved her to become a scientist, she probably upset them quite a bit by becoming an enforcer. But that suits her personality on who she wants to be.

This show actually has very little to do with the game, league is in a way like a fighter pvp game that takes characters from stories and throws them in an arena to fight, now riot has been releasing new champions on a consistent basis developing back story's for each of them to give them there own personality, so in doing this for twelve years they have actually painted a very vivid image of what this world with these characters looks like but it has many unfilled gaps and isn't really a concrete story, as they have released new champions the story has changed and been updated so this show is essentially the first set in stone story we are getting. Some of the characters are in the game but only about 8 champions(Vi, Jinx, Viktor, Jayce, Caitlyn, Heimerdinger, Ekko, and Singed) out of 150+ are in arcane the show and this is only one of many regions this is piltover the land of progress and innovation and the beginnings of zaun the undercity. We haven't seen much of what the universe holds but they have gone into so much detail and riot has put more effort into character building than actual gameplay so I was expecting alot as far as someone who has played since beta, and this let's just say is better than I could have even imagined. Also loving your reactions just thought I would help give you a little more insight not that it's needed, your picking up pretty much all the big points on your own love to see it.
