Dopo aver letto dei commenti ho notato che le critiche non si riferiscono alla parola cupcake, ma direttamente al tono del doppiaggio. Anche io lo trovo strano dopo aver visto la serie in inglese, perchè nell'originale i personaggi usano un tono che rispecchia il loro stile di vita. Caitlyn è insicura, dubbiosa ed in un mondo sconosciuto per lei. Vi è il suo contrario, ma non usa neanche un tono accusatorio o intimidatorio, ma usa invece un tono per sedurre, per rispecchiarne appunto le parole e l'intenzione. In quello italiano caitlyn si rivolge a Vi manco fosse una camionista e Vi sembra incazzata con lei nonostante nella scena voglia sia prendersi gioco di lei che sedurla allo stesso tempo.

@@matteozerbini6139 personalmente non ho elaborato un pensiero così profondo, il tono giocoso e seduttivo di Vi si percepisce perfettamente anche in italiano, e in questo l’adattamento “pasticcino” aiuta tantissimo la performance della doppiatrice e a me sta bene! Il tono vagamente incazzoso ci sta tantissimo su un personaggio che ha accumulato rabbia per gli anni passati chiusa ingiustamente in prigione, è un tipo di frustrazione che mantieni nella voce anche quando parli di altro, l’ho trovato perfetto! Mi sono capitati in home altri video multi-language con Jinx ad esempio, e il doppiaggio italiano è stato senz’altro fra i migliori 🤞🏻

Comunque il doppiaggio puó piacere senz'altro, non è neanche male. Secondo me peró, piccolo esempio, se la canzone "Immagine" la traduci e canti in italiano non ha lo stesso effetto. Lo stesso vale se traduci "l'anno che verrá" in inglese ecc...

Sadly, not in German. Though "heiß" really means "hot" in both senses, they used the loanword "cupcake" when "Törtchen" (little tart) would also have been appropriate in context. While German voice actors are very experienced (everything is dubbed in Germany), there are often some problems with the translations of idioms or puns.

I still think they could have made the translation a bit better in Greek. I miss the old translations that felt more "natural" to the native speaker. Translations nowadays stick to the original script like a bible and it really ruins some parts that could have been (in terms of context) just as effective. Remember the line where jinx says "I made her a snack?" well, I think there were better alternatives than "I made her food". The voices are very fitting tho!

It is "candy" because word for "cupcake" is at the same time word for woman, so if Vi would call her "cupcake" in Polish, it would mean more of "sexy lady" in very countryside way, not "sweet lady" like in original english transcript. That's why Cait became "candy"

That also happens in Portuguese! When you want to say someone is hot we use the words "gato" for men and "gata" for women because it changes if it's male or female, but it literally means "cat"

But the speakin pattern sounded a bit too fake, kinda like wanna be Finnish gangsta. :'D the voice actress didn't feel like fully commited but otherwise good job. Could've been worse.

Other than that Finnish one is so bad imo :D Where is the emotion? When Caitlyn asks what she has it doesn't even feel like a question. Also when she hits the wall she doesn't make any sound xd
