Women like Angela were real trailblazers in the metal scene. She showed that women in metal weren't a novelty and they could hang with the best of them. Especially at a time when dudes were pretty awful towards them and whatnot. Nowadays, there are a lot more women in the metal scene leading bands and doing a kickass job of it, I'm just glad that the work Angela and others have put in created this amazing legacy. Seriously, in a time well before the Me Too movement, she went into a very misogynistic and elitist community, kicked down the doors and told us all that she belonged here and there was nothing that anyone was going to do about it. She's a fucking legend.
@@huggleskuishy Just because you didn't see it or hear dosent mean it dosent exist. The metal community has always been extremely toxic, especially towards women both as fans and artists. Just ask any woman who in the scene and they will tell you they have experienced some sort of sexism at one point or another. It's absolutely real and it happened, and still does. It's honestly not talked about enough.
@@captaincumrag42069 This is what they say about every community. Men and women are different. "Sexism", or treating people differently based on gender, is part and parcel of humanity. The only way to get rid of it is to get rid of genders all together. I remember the metal community in the mid 2000s, it definitely was pretty liberal and pro gender equality, but what's liberal today will be conservative tomorrow according to your insane standards. There's no end goal; just constant change leading to the destruction of humanity itself.

When I first heard of this band it was when Angela was still the vocalist. I was 19 and ffdp and Godsmack was the crap I listened to. Then my buddy showed me Amon amarth and arch enemy and ooooooh yeah I loved it. But to hear this ungodly sound coming from this tiny little thing..... HAWT!
@@kemanorel3110 i totally agree they did tune the music down a little to fit Alissa's voice which kind of killed what Arch Enemy was i like both versions of the band but the clean vocals Alissa is mixing in now is just a giant nope to me

*Doomsday Machine* is one of few albums I still listen to the whole CD at once! All 11 tracks! Michael's riff, Christopher's solo, Sharlee's thumping bass, Daniel's killer drumming and Angela's balanced crisp voice made this a killer album! 🤟💥

I miss her singing....So brutal. There are many female singers out there that can really growl...Jinger...And the one that is already singing now with them..They are both awesome!! But she is imo the best!
@@valerieblackthorn2792 yes l have always asked myself.... If the growler can really sing without growling. Because anyone can do a little of growling if they keep training for years and years.... But they may not even know how to sing at all. So l think that Angela is super with growling but l have never heard her sing cleanly even once. And honestly l'd be curious to hear her sing clean at least once.... If she ever does and if she turns out great..... Then she would such an inhuman talent!! Something inhuman! Can you imagine it? Like... Classical singing, clean singing, Angela's growling all together? It would be wonderful! But in these covid conditions, l can't go to her and ask for it! I've lost my social medias too.... @@azzurraantolini9657 Yes, I agree. That would be cool. I like gutural voices, but I miss people singing natural (clean voices). Probably she (Angela) left music because that kind of singing demands to much effort and energy. I understand she was one of the pioneers in gutural female voices. She deserve respect for daring to do something other women haven't done before. Unlike other metal women of such style, she is so down to earth and she doesn't needs to use a disguise to impress. She fits better than others as a front woman in Metal bands, in my opinion.
Short answer: Hell yes, it's awesome with a great soundtrack. Long answer: It's kinda a satirical comedy. And all of the bosses based on various archetypes and they are fucking wicked, they even have one punk rock zombie and a viking metal zombie. It's pretty short though and the combat system might be annoying at first since you don't have that many moves(it is hack and slash). But it's super cheap now and worth it.
I didnt know the band was fronted by a woman intil i saw them open for Maiden. Never saw a pictof the band. Damn they were good live. Been a huge fan ever since.
