I was 16 when archeage came out and it was my first love to mmos and i still think about it and hope to see something like it all the time. The trailer gives me bless vibes though when it comes to maybe how the game isnt going to actually play out
Although Archeage was not my first, big time eastern MMO (Aion Online will always be my first eastern MMO lover), it was my first likeskilling (harvesting, logging, farming, etc) type of MMO and I LOVED the animations and just the "farming" life. Something about planting and choppings trees and actually watching them drop made the cool factor x1000% as no other MMO at that time had any animations like that. It was also the first time I joined a community guild to do trade runs with wagons across land and across the ocean. No other MMO has encompassed such a fun time with lifeskilling. God, those were the hella fun days. Their water physics and animations for the characters as you were in the water was actually top tier for a game like that at the time.
this also made me think of the underwater PVP which was crazy. it's the only game to ever make me care for lifeskilling as well hope we get to experience an mmo like this again.. someday.
I have such a fierce love/hate relationship with this game. I can remember launching this game and having the time of my life through the beta/launch. Ended up taking a break for a few years and Tried going back last year and it was heartbreaking on how it is now.
The first few months of Archeage is still hands down the most fun I've ever had playing a MMO. Hearing the music alone is so nostalgic and makes me remember so many moments with the guys I played with. Hopefully we'll get to experience a feeling like that again in the future. Anyway, been a fan of your videos for a long time. Glad to see you're still around, man!
My favorite part of arche age was when there was a group of us walking and dancing at the same time and other players joined in dancing and playing music. THAT! Is the archeage I remember.
You are so right with EVERYTHING! Archeage was my love too. The music, artstyle, the world, the classes, ship stuff, housing, farming, best tab targeting and the whole vibe. And the whole community aspect. There is nothing which comes close. I love and miss it so much. This trailer looks ok but also like a standard Asia grinder. The archeage soul is missing. Still love archeage graphics because it’s not too realistic. BDO is nice as well but it’s missing in so many parts. Archeage is super unique and awesome 😢 Btw it’s so awesome you are back ❤️
@@Cryyfuu FOR REEEAAAAAL. Maaaan. Beta and early access days were fucking prime. It just sucks that most games in that time period plummeted after full release. Throwback to revelation online lmfao. Nowadays though, the mmo's that have early access/beta just aren't received as well anymore :/ If only the olden day full releases were consistent with the betas, we'd have better days :(
Bro…. Archeage was it for me. My introduction to MMOs and your content. Hearing the music takes me back to a special place in my life honestly. Staying up all night to defend kraken, the race to get the first castle in aurora, spies in our guild/teamspeak, mowing grass to get the money to enchant my gear, unsealing an eph flame nodachi for my DR. Ahh man… I can’t wait for Archeage 2.
i remember playing Archeage on a potato pc on the lowest graphic settings just to get enough FPS to be playable back when it first launched and man that first month of playing was amazing that i even bought the highest tier Founders Pack. There was no P2W nor predatory business tactics in the game it was an amazing journey i really thought it would be a game id be playing for a decade. I had that glimpse of hope that i even went and upgraded my PC so i can enjoy the game in its beautiful graphics on max only to find out the game was slowly destroying itself and found myself logging on less and less but that memory of playing for the first time will forever live on as a legendary moment in MMO history for me.
ArcheAge was a one sided relationship for me, I loved it dearly and spent thousands of hours playing it daily. It was so much fun for me to log in and spend an afternoon after school dueling with guildies, chilling at our guild house, being a pirate, whatever. The game had the BEST naval combat for it's time, a banger soundtrack, a whole trial system and prison for people who broke the law, housing, goods trading, farming, it seemed like the possibilities were endless. Slowly the game felt more and more tailored to paying real money for a distinct advantage. I loved this game longer than the majority of my friends did, and I watched as the players in my guild went lower and lower, less and less of my friends logged in, and eventually the taxes on my guild house weren't even paid and someone else bought the land, which means I lost my favorite hangout spot in the entire game. I gave the game my all as long as I could, but the devs left a sour taste in my mouth that I can never get rid of. Sorry for the rant but this game meant so much to me and my childhood... it was my first MMO and where I would go to escape the real world. It just makes me so sad to see the state it ended up in, and I don't think I could trust this company ever again.
@@Cryyfuu Thanks for taking the time to reply dude. I am glad we share similar views on this game, and all we can do is hope they learned from past mistakes and reignite the fire that got us hooked years ago. Although, in this day and age of greedy and overly monetized games, I can't help but be a bit pessimistic.
This video hits all the same feelings about AA. Specifically the best times i had was on Vengeance when I joined you in Sinister back in the day and meeting Daark, and Jake, and continued playing with them for years after you quit. Becoming rivals with Zzavage, eventually joining up with Algae Squad some great memories... There have been times I reinstalled just to listen to the old music, and revisit where I've had land, looking out to the ocean where i've summoned countless boats, and it was actually crazy how strong the nostalgia affected me. I dont know if you remember me as Kroe, but I'll never forget when you came to me asking if I'd be online enough to give me a trade ship for guild runs to Freedich because i was no-lifing so hard at the time. Was also super fun always having a bunch of people in discord to hop in and BS around with. Also funny story; just before you started up RU-vid again, I was thinking "I wonder how Cryy is doing, and hope he's doing well" so when Path of Exile Crucible came out, I tipped my hat off by naming my guy Kroefuu then you randomly popped back up on RU-vid again, which felt like a crazy coincidence! Glad you're back. meant to say so sooner :)
omg... This comment has brought me so many memories. Algae Squad, Sinister. I haven't thought of these names in a while. and of course Kroe! I remember you bro haha I even remember your face and our times hanging together.I really hope you are doing well bro and I'm glad to hear from you. I still talk to Daark! Honored to be part of your path of exile journey lol!
Maaannn, this brings a lot of nostalgia. I remember the times when I was trading packs with just a donkey heading from Tigerspine to Solis Highlands while admiring the beauty of the landscapes. Those where the times man. Archeage will forever have a speciial place in my heart.
Brother.... Trades on ships and pirates, island v island factions and all, it was amazing... the best time i had in a MMOPRG. This game made me buy a whole new PC back in 2014. Just to wait in a 8 hour Q. what a game
They will always hype you up before they fk you in the ass and shit on your hopes and dreams. Chasing after the next best mmorpg is a game in and of itself. That said, I can't wait until ArcheAge 2.
I respect that Tekken Music during Sexy Time. ❤ I know you've been back but just gotta say I'm glad you've returned my guy. You farewell video brought a 30 year old man to tears a bit but I guess that was the amazing 90s feel of the video and the amazing Samurai Champloo theme that played lol. Nastoliga will hit you in the feels. 😂
OMG DUDE, ARCHEAGE WAS SUUUCH A GOOD TIME, SO MANY MEMORIES, SO MANY MEMES CREATED WITH MY 2 FRIENDS, I NEVER HAD A GAME COME CLOSE TO ARCHAGE IN TERMS OF STORIES WE HAD WITH RANDOM PEOPLE, THAT ONLY HAPPENED BECAUSE THE GAME ALLOWED IT AS WELL!
You've just perfectly described the experience I had with ArcheAge. I started playing it in 2014, almost ten years ago, but every two or three years I come back to this game and quit again to return to it later. I've tried many other MMOs since then, but it never gave me the same emotions I had in AA. Last time I quit it at 5.5 update, but I still wait for the perfect time to play again, that's why I'm so excited about AA2. Yes, I can always complain about P2W, endless grinding and dead servers and leave the game with the door slam, but still, something is holding me there. Something I always come back for, no matter how many years have passed. Cya in AA2!
People shit on tab targeting but Tab targeting in Arcehage was actually GOATED. I have never played another game where the combat felt so good. The amount of skill needed for it was insane. Yes gear, ping, etc came into play in combat but those issues are just multiplied by action combat. Look at people like Xithorus, Pope, ODear, and even you, and you are able to just see how fluid the combat can be in this game. God it was addicting to absolutely destroy people with this combat system.
ArcheAge was one of the first PC games I ever bought. It was Gmod, Minecraft, and ArcheAge, those were my first 3 cuz I remember getting them all the same day. I was 14 at the time and even though I knew nothing about PCs, I *knew* about ArcheAge, that's how big the hype for this game was. I no lifed the hell out of this game. When I wasn't doing homework or playing Minecraft with friends, I was playing ArcheAge. I would boot up Gmod for like a 15 minute break just to mess around play prop hunt or something, then right back to ArcheAge. I was in love with this game. I never wanted it to go away. idk if ArcheAge 2 will fix all the problems, but I hope it does. I want to rediscover my love for that game.
Archeage was the first and only MMO I was ever able to invest any significant amount of time into. I started playing it back in 2014 shortly after it released in the US, and it was one of the first games I had installed on my first crappy gaming laptop that didn't even have a dedicated GPU. Over the next several years, till about 2020 or so, I sank several thousand hours into it, but it eventually became so bad, I had to quit. I realized I was spending $100+ a month on rng rolls just to keep up with folks who either no lifed the game, or just threw money at it to skip the grind. The game had the best lifestyling, some of the best paced combat, some of the most interesting locations, and the coolest mounts/homes I'd ever seen in a game. But all that couldn't hold a candle to how heavily monetized the game was, and how it choked the life out of players wallets.
Bro Cry!!! Man it’s good to hear your voice. I haven’t been watching many mmo videos and stumbled across this. Happy to see u back bro. Dead on with archeage analogy. But before archeage for me it was Aion, toxic city but it still holds a place in my heart.
I've got so many memories from this game - good & bad. I still get the itch to go back. I've grown as a person but dang will I cave and play Archeage 2! ;D
dawg i started watching you back in the Archeage days, before i had responsibilities and was NO-LIFING the game. Totally agree with you, she's that "EX" we cant get over.
Archeage was the one thing in your life you actually wanted to no life, there was so much to do. I remember my first days of archeage, I was taken back at how you made gold. Remember when you had to wild farm grapes for regular solzereed packs for nuia? and plant 1000s of illigal potatos for tigerspine in haranya? Do you remember trying to min max your fucking 8x8 with potatos and being reported for a being a bot cause you planted too well?! LOL You remember those long ass lines for quest items? I do! Hell remember even trying new ways to get the items while everyone else said "Line up" While no one listened anyways as you continued on your way regardless? Oh hell yeah I do Remember the first time you built a clipper and then an galleon? It felt amazing, and then testing it out MWAH! I made friends in this game that will live in my head rent free for my entire life, I miss it and while typing this I've laughed and even cried a little. I miss archeage and I know you do to, I want to give archeage 2 a try because there is hope that It could be like that again, and I'd die to experience it all over and I hope a few of you feel the same.
i still remember the day when they brought in those christmas or whatever boxes, that held items which could be sold for tons of in game curruncy, back when they where still pretending it wasnt pay to win, the amount of people that quit after that, was just pure chaos. Until that point this game was fucking amazing and i could have played it for years.
There are so many things I absolutely loved about ArcheAge, especially the Criminal System with PK etc. I've got so many good and awesome experiences but everytime the devs broke the game it broke my heart as well. Going to be very critical on ArcheAge 2 and still I feel extremly excited for some news, lol.
What you felt about Archage and how you feel right now it's exactly how many of us feel to many other MMOs. We invested so many hours, money, sleepless nights, networking work, planning in general, etc. It truly was a 2nd life. Some MMOs died, some are still there but turned for the worse but despite that we can't just forget how much fun we had. Even if it turned out to be a really shitty MMO if you were ask me if I could turn back time and stop myself from playing I wouldn't do it. I would play it again and experience again all the frustration, deception, anger, sadness once again so I can relieve that joy I once had when playing them. Once again great stuff man I loved how you threw shade at the new MMOs "trailers" that focus on a single character doing "cool" things instead of showcasing the MMO aspects that convince us to play them.
You pretty much said it perfectly when it comes to ArcheAge and my relationship with it "No, I will never play it again. But I'll think of this game very often"
You described exactly how I feel about archeage. I loved that game so much, it was the first MMO that really got me into my PC and gaming. I spent so much time and money on this game, had so much fun. Spending all day every day on this game during lockdown was the best. I outlasted most of my friends (IRL and IG) but it was sad to see how it turned out. Towards the end it was just draining me to log on and see the constant toxic shit chat 24/7. We all loved some drama don’t get me wrong but there comes a point where it gets too bad that it’s draining. Definitely a love hate relationship. I often think about all the good times but now if I hear or see the word archeage I’m just like eugh. 😅If I could have the game back I played in 2020 I’d be a happy bunny. Here’s to hoping archeage 2 works out fine!
It makes me sad. I threw down with the highest founders pack and had so much fun in the beginning not even in the pit of gear, just crafting, first time making my house, my garden. The world was our oyster, if they can bring that into a BDO style action combat, it will be my home. The name nostalgia alone dragging the hope, I'm throwing down into it 100%.
I probably only put like 60 hours into ArcheAge in my time, so can't say much about the game. But what I can say is Maplestory was that investment for me, and my relationship with MS lasted way too long, all the way til like 2014 I think, which was well past the prime. I constantly think about downloading the game again, and I listen to the music all the time. When Maplestory 2 was announced, I was sorta interested just for the nostalgia factor, I downloaded the game and honestly really enjoyed it for the first 10 hours because they brought PQs and social minigames back. But like, not even 2 years after launch, it shut down.
I don't know if you've seen but theres a private 3.0 server thats popping off at the moment, EU & NA combined, has over 5000 active players im pretty sure at the moment, one character only, even I came back for it lmao, worth checking it out if you want that hit of nostalgia
I am excited for this game, it's just interesting to see that Archeage kinda has been a permanent proof of concept. Yes, we know the game is good, but the monetization and systems were anathema to the players. No matter the amount of refreshes, it was a whale paradise. That said, I hope they push it in a direction that at least caters to the general player more, and foster's a better, let alone larger community. Funny enough I remember your archeage videos very vividly and always top tier. Thank you for the coverage.
For me, there are no better MMORPG than Archeage. It's the most complete MMORPG ever. The daily life, the PvP even inside a town, the jury system, the fvcking trade filled with both happiness and bitterness, the pirates. Everything. It's not perfect, but it's the most complete and memorable (also the game that took the most of my time ever). A bit sceptical with Archeage 2, but if the player base can be huge, I'll dive in.
seriously all they have to do is completely copy archeage 1 mechanics with some better graphics and it'll still be better and more complete than any MMO
Surprisingly. Archerage EU is active. It’s the archeage private server. Just constant fights over kraken dragon and other bosses. It’s a 50 50 there isn’t a zerging side. Check it out
Bro I'm still on that ride or die man.. this game is my one addiction I can't kick. I've spent probably 10k on this game over the years on the main server, Unchained, etc... I'm gonna be 60 and retired and some homie will mention archeage and I'll prolly still go back lmao
Holy....😮 Cry ! .... It's been a minute for me since I seen your videos bro... I lost in the algorithm I guess.... Good to see you talking about archeage my man 🤙😊
hell yeah,,,archeage was the first mmorpg sandbox that I played, spent a few years playing it...since then I've been looking for something like it but it doesn't exist...I've tried a bunch of game but nothing can really get me like archeage did...
This is 💯% on point for me. The fun we've had, the experiences🥰The comedy. Having my packs stolen. Guild vengeance😂I miss it every day but it's too damn depressing to go back. It will always be the one for me😢😍🥺😭
Some of us addicts still play it to this day. It is really depressing to log in and look at how dead it is and neglected. If you ever decide to hop in to make a nostalgia video I'd be happy to lead you through stuff. Cheers and thank you! o7
True. Imo ArcheAge nailed the combat. Making it full action would make it too over and probably worse. It's not like it wasn't complicated enough in first place. It had a lot of layers to it
Omgosh, relatable about it being my life for a period of time no matter the drama/crap going on with the game. Your name is so familiar. Did you play on Aranzeb NA? I was Jesikka(or just Jes) on there.
Bro it was the best game every..Full stop....& i was there with U As A Aussie player ,played this game for the release the wars was epic ...Looking forward to ArcheAge 2 ..
I miss archeage also!! I remember whatching you in arenas i trained so hard to one day beat you and when I did it was fun I remember us being hanging out in archage often becoming a pirate to be in your guild then you left 😢 im glad your back Its sweets if you remember my archon build lol 😂
Like the entire Military Toxic Trauma Bonding. Archeage finally started to show some promise with the new Nation quests and community based content, but then it killed PVP by devaluing Trade packs and ocean content. The thing that is Killing it the most is Limited / Restricted Housing when there is HUGE amounts of space to expand Housing and the WORST THING they are doing is Recycling with Fresh Start Servers that has dwindled the community down faster than anything i have ever seen in any MMORPG.
"Escapism" is right. I used this game for a long time for that and ended up meeting great people that I still talk to and plan trips with today. Every time I quit it made my guts turn.
AA2 looks pretty good. I just hope its not coming soon in 2030. Archeage Classic is pretty good. It is fairly new and so far populated. They are doing 3.0 version only.
Dude Archeage was so dope when it came out in 2013 and I did end up trying Unchained in 2019 with a friend I met in college and we ended up dumping hundreds of hours into it but ended up quitting cause of the BS lol. Game was good times tho nonetheless.
had my best time with archeage unchained out of all the releases. pvping and raiding illegal farms was insanely fun, then they brought housing back and everyone sucked off themselfs in their own house and never did something fun again till the game died.
I refer to ArcheAge is my Toxic Ex-GameBoyFriend.......I know it was bad for me...but omg it was so good I kept going back for the nostalga...lol (finely made a clean break 2 years ago)
Hey brother. Have you checked out Ashes Of Creation at all yet? I've been following it for a long, long, ***long*** time, and knowing that the devs come from Archeage and wanted to basically "Do it the right way", I've got pretty high hopes. Would love to see you look into this man. Much love. Keep doing what you're doing.
