Nobody is "like Archer" unless he can sleep with dozens of women, get away with practically anything, and be totally fearless. Why does Wisecrack talk about Archer as if he didn't lead a successful and fulfilling life? Archer is not dysfunctional; we are. The dysfunction comes from being weak, timid, clingy, or unattractive. Its not just being raised by a TV its being isolated a lot throughout childhood. Wether a person isolates themselves, or are isolated for other reasons, its not healthy to be alone for a long time, especially if you are also still going through psychological and physical development. Its not only bad for your mental health its bad for your physical health too. If you are isolated and inside a room/house all the time

I was raised by tv! & Video games! Basically fantasizing habits & distorted view of the world is what I got. Not interacting & experiencing the real world caused severe social odd behaviours, thoughts & thinking patterns that I've been discovering & fixing for a few years now. Seriously distinguishing between the fantasy, fictional world (yes even books) from the real world, real universe is quite important as I have realised so I avoid them all as much as possible. I hate it that instead of living in the real world, I was living in fantasy basically doing nothing for most of my life. REGRETS!! Now when I tell people I was addicted to films, music, gaming, they laugh. I wish I could effectively tell them how serious it in fact is but I guess they don't care or are ignorant so I guess I will just let them suffer & learn from their own life even if it will be like getting hit by a whole train of bricks of regret about wasting life. Or maybe they just want to die in the matrix 😂complaining, whining & asking all the wrong questions or just want to live high (matrix) life without ever seeing the reality as it is. It's like seeing through the phone with a beauty or some fantasy filter on & acting like it without seeing the real ourself & the universe.

I find it pertinent the video doesn't address that Archer's theoretical dissonance is further exacerbated by the fact he exists in such a permissive environment. He doesn't just act like a super spy, he is a super spy, and on some level in an environment where normal people come up against structure and restriction, he is rewarded for his behavior even though he desperately wants to be stopped.

Archer was not raised by TV. He was raised by a heroine addicted British WWI veteran valet to at least a homosocial RAF pilot. And his dysfunction, such that it is, is in sync with his environment which is a parodic spy TV show. And ever since Neil Postman and David Foster Wallace nerdwallah dudes have to see the great American syphillis is the boob tube. The references are far and wide, and frankly only accessible at their most obscure to someone with an Ivy quality college education or Google/Wikipedia. As with Postman and Wallace, this analysis says much more about the analyst than the analyzand.

I thought this episode was about how Archer was getting worse and worse, aka ruined, at least for the last 5 seasons. But no, instead it's a case on how television ruins US, the real viewers of tv and youtube, and this video tries to prove that idea based on Archer, a man who's been shown exactly zero times to be chilling in front of a tv or even a pc and who's also fictional. To make one thing clear, these people either haven't really watched Archer at all and got everything they needed from some wiki, or they are REAAAAALLY stretching the limitations of cherry-picking till it turns into a whole fanfic situation. Archer, wasn't raised by the tv. The fact that he constantly makes references doesn't prove anything more than him having a possible developmental disorder, something for which we've seen signs throughout all the (good) seasons of this show. And still, at the end of the day, we got to keep on our wrinkle ass brains that he's a fictional character in an animated shitcom that parodies James Bond and the spy genre in general. Somethings happen in this show which has no explanation, no concrete, based on facts and specific scenes explanation anyway. For fuck's sake, he was shipped off to a boarding school for most of his life!!! And if we are to correctly assume that the show takes place in a parallel dimension where tech from 2020 and beyond exists in a world where everything has an, at least 80s to 90s aesthetic, he wasn't allowed to spend vast amounts of time each and every day watching tv! "(schools, church, dojos) helps us develop healthy social boundaries so that we don't get an erection in front of our mother inspired of the thought of her dying." Yes, you heard right, biology is shaped by schools, churches and dojos, and also, people who didn't attend those institutions, are getting boners when they think their mother's deaths... Wisecrack, you did again! You cracked the code of ridiculous claims! Thanks for nothing with dick jokes on top! And there we go again, Archer grew with no structure and religion... in a catholic boarding school!!! Are you fucking kidding me?! At the end of the day, if Wisecrack was right, and Archer did turn into such a dysfunctional, useless idiot, who can't function in a real-world situation (even though he's a pretty successful spy) and communicates through catchphrases and references, why is everyone else around him fairly similar or even worse than him!?! Oh, let me guess, it's because it's an animated sitcom, right!? But that somehow doesn't affect the very real and valuable study you did on Archer, an obviously real character who's mythos you haven't spitroast between your inability to find something interesting to talk about and your need to push a video out so you won't lose that ad money, ha? 9:13 9:29 A very good example about how little substance the claims wisecrack is bestowing on Archer and his supposed state of influence from the tv throughout his preteen and teen years comes with the form of misunderstanding this obvious developmental disability joke with... "Tv never shows or explains how autopilot works, so, archer doesn't get the idea" Which is amazing, been that we have never, ever, ever seen a scene with a plane that's on autopilot landing itself... unless we are talking about animated sitcoms with absurdist humor or straight up the movie STEALTH. But the ace on the Wisecrack's sleeve is the idolization of Burt Reynolds from Archer himself. Which proves nothing about him been raised by the tv. Tons of outgoing rascals who figure watching tv all day as an attribute of nerdom are into the Fast and the Furious and are certainly NOT raised up by the tv. As for Archer overcompensating through sexual conquest for his lack of effective human interaction skills, that's just it! Has little to do with him being a fan on Burth Reynolds and vastly more to do with him being a fictional parody of Reynolds's characters and James Bond! I mean, seriously?! Was that all you had Wisecrack??? Damn! At the end of the day, if we are to judge Archer as if he was a real character and critic everything he says for the sake of the show been entertaining as the failed attempts of a kid who grew up on a steady diet of tv (which hasn't been proven about Archer, we got to keep that in mind) then why does every other character from every other sitcom gets a pass?!? Ain't that devastatingly telling when it comes to how forced and fictitious this whole "analysis" actually is?! That's, the level you have to suspend your disbelief to actually find this episode worth watching, and as I was thinking that I realized, Wisecrack ain't worth any of my eyeball work hours anymore!

If TV ruins kids... Imagine what social media does. It was already bad before but now is way worse.

Social media is probably worse on the development on young kids. In my experience, I would take a look at what my peers would post on their Instagram and Snapchat accounts, such as them at the beach, taking walks in nature, skydiving, etc., and would assume that their lives were amazing compared to my shitty life. But what they don't post on social media is what's going on in their lives behind the scenes. I never once learned that everybody in this world fights secret battles nobody knows about, which lead to me discovering this quote: "Don't compare your behind the scenes to someone else's highlight reels." I only learned that just a year ago, at the age of 21.

I re-watched "Buffy the vampire slayer" a couple of months ago; because the "quar". The show aired on tv when I was 11 years old. As I watched it; the realisation of how much it had informed my world view at the time crept over me accompanied by a bit dred and a spiraling shame of the person I was during my teens.
