E, I just did my first “hike to hunt” yesterday which I believe it similar to a “TAC” event however I haven’t done one of those yet. It was sick, super realistic scenarios of hiking through the Forrest and then ranging and making the shot from all different situations. Not sure if they hold any in your area back east but I believe they have some TAC events. Would be a sweet vid to go and do one and film it. Oh and I really think do to the crunch time that keeping it simple with a pop up or natural built blind would be the way to go. Then after this season take this year to really investigate and try out tree options. Would be cool to film your tree options and we can learn along with that as well. Love the channel dude, I feel like I’m learning along with you.
Recommendation… I would shoot the deer target without the white dot. Deer don’t have highlighted spots to hit. Learn to pick a spot. And remember, go for the vital V.
Dennis is absolutely right. Im very excited for you but recommend studying deer anatomy, then watch as many videos as possible to understand deer behavior and movement. I cant wait for your video of that big ole buck
I would strongly recommend making sure all the arrows are properly spine aligned. The arrows I sent you should have the cock vane (orange) up. I noticed that the spine alignment isn’t consistent. Probably happened when you replaced the lighted nocks. If the stiff spine varies so will how the arrow comes off the rest and finally how it impacts the target.
@@dennislappert9575 I had it up originally but when I went to the shop I wouldn’t get a clean paper shot because i think it touched the strings on the way out but once they turned it the flight was perfect so they told me shoot all the arrows that way
Just found this video. I’m assuming you’re new to archery and this will be your first hunting season? If so you’re in for a treat! Been bowhunting since 1984. The things you will see and experience will trump any animal you will take. Good luck and learn from your mistakes.
Don't get me wrong, I love a good tree stand sit. But just starting out I found it easy to just ground sit. Buy a cheap pop up blind, Brush it in good and sit and wait. Or just find a spot on the ground and brush in and let it rip! Tree stands you gotta get passed that fear factor up in the tree and also cost more to get goin need a harness etc. Just a personal point of view from when I first started archery hunting! Regardless nice shooting and keep it up!!!
The new see through blinds from tidewe are seriously dope! Used 1 for turkey season this year and had deer literally within 5 feet of the blind and never saw me. Casually walked off like it wasn't there. Have video of him too.
I think that’s really good advice E, I think starting out and with the time crunch, effort should be spent on keeping it simple and finding some spots of travel where a ground blind can be set up or built.
Didnt catch the video when it aired this time, was busy feeding animals. Also had to make a trip to my local bow shop to get new strings and cables for my bow. Going to be about 3 weeks before i can shoot again. Cant wait to see som videos of you killing a big buck this year!
Always great videos. I had to take a break from shooting cause of elbow pain from all the shooting I was doing so far is been like 2 weeks not shooting and the elbow still hurts but I'm trusting God everything is going to be ok.
Yes, but still hurting and before this pain I ordered a new bow which I have to go pick it up on Tuesday (Matthew's lift 29.5) Hoping I feel less pain Tuesday
I would try and get a stand asap. Idk when your season starts but my first stand was a big foot. And that shit was heavy. A pain to walk in the woods with. I broke and bought a saddle from trophyline. Best decision I've made in my journey. This will be my third hunting season so I'm fairly new to this as well.
@@whatisarchery me too. Old squint eye it’ll need be. Unless you start shooting left handed. BTW, I’ve gotten too old to use a climber Treestand, so I only use Ladderstands. I’ve still got a like new Summit climber you’re welcome to. If you want, next time you visit NY, stop by and pick it up!
@@IZZYR23 you’re blessed. The vast majority of archers cannot. Myself included. When I do my consistency goes down. When it comes to hunting, how close the season is, and Henoc’s limited experience, what I’m trying to say is; hunt with whatever method brings the most ethical accurate shot. There’s always after hunting season to learn new skills.
I had to start shooting left handed even though I'm right handed. I'm much more accurate with my left now that my right. I really have to think about which way I set up in spots though lol
Grab a chair…practice sit down shots…in case that’s the only shot you have in a tree stand. Practice shooting from one knee…both knees….in case you see a deer on the way to the tree stand and you have to get low. Practice getting a quicker than normal shot off…in case u have to fire off a quick one. DEFINITELY shoot with both eyes open…larger field of view. If you can, practice in the woods. Like find an archery range with targets throughout the woods. It’s a different feel. Like first time shooting elevated was a different feel for me. Basically get used to as much as you can. The last thing you want is to be uncomfortable when you deer gives you the perfect shot. If it doesn’t give you a perfect shot, you will still have an idea of what’s going on and what decisions to make. I hope that made sense lol. Keep shooting and keep it safe bro 🦾💯
@@SirVivalDotKom most def man for sure…I’ve practiced all those shots plus more check my videos out…it def is very uncomfortable but it helps with preparation for real…thanks man
Try practicing from double the distance you would feel comfortable taking a shot on a live deer. You'll find if that's 40 yards and you're used to shooting at 80, 40 is so easy.
Do you have a place to hunt? If not let me know. We are blessed to have ample public land in NC and some interesting draw opportunities. I may be able to hook you up with a stand, ladder, and safety harness to boot! Keep Shootin’!
@@Buster.Rox. wow that would be awesome man I could really use the help in that area…I don’t currently have a place to hunt I was going to start with my backyard honestly and then ask around lol
Great form draw length seems a tad long only other thing i notice is you are punching the hell out of the trigger lol gotta really slow down there not sure if you’re familiar with MFJJ from podium archer or Joel Turner from ShotIQ but go watch a few of their videos on trigger control lots to learn from those guys
Looks like your draw length is about a half an inch to an inch too long because when I’m looking in the video that you shoot your string is too far back on your cheek , get a kisser button to always have the same anchor point , kisser button goes in the crease of your lips every time so you have the same anchor point every time,
