That bit at 0:25 where he switches to the backbeat is just so fucking clean. His compositional abilities are fuckin nuts for a dude his age. Perks of starting young and being a musical genius, I guess.
This one. This one is this generation's Vai or Van Halen. Just a whole new thing perfectly formed out the gates. This is clearly post glitch, post Dubstep live guitar work that has been influenced by those movements. Incredible. Not a thing I would have predicted. Keep keeping on. Luv and Peace.
I’ve been using the plug in for about a month now and I have to say, I’m super impressed. There are things in it that I didn’t even know I needed. The multi voicing is cool. I’m also a huge fan of the way they did the delay and especially the shimmer. One of the coolest sounds I’ve heard in a long time.
don't get me wrong, i'm probably going to buy the plugin and fall in love with it, but i'm just so MAD that this isn't a song i can listen to on spotify or apple music. this is an AD and it was so beautifully executed. EDIT: Have fun downloading compressed 128kbps files from sketchy converter websites.
So crazy to see this. This kid failed out of community college music theory because he could not write a scale on the board, and now he has his own plug-in.
What's crazy is I was in this kids college class in 2012 and he couldn't even write a scale. We used to sit in the back and exchange notes about how nice kisses feel and now he has his own musical editing software plug in instrumental guitar computer digital program. This is the matrix. What is really crazy and blows my mind is that I was in this kids college class in 2012 and he couldn't even write a scale. We used to sit in the back and exchange notes about how nice kisses feel and now he has his own musical editing software plug in instrumental guitar computer digital program. This is the matrix.
Thank you Tim Henson. I used to get discouraged watching Tosin Abasi when he first showed up on the scene, after playing guitar for around 13 years or so when I first saw Tosin, I felt like I'd never be good enough to bother with playing professionally, but I never could quit playing because I love music too much. I've grown a lot since then, and after hearing you talk about Tosin being an inspiration that helped you get where you are today, and then seeing this video, it has made me want to try harder to get better. Now I'm around 19 years of playing and can only keep growing, learning these different styles from epic guitarists like you that love playing so much you can't stop. Keep up the phenomenal work. 🙏🏼
I know it's subjective, but you may be the best Tim. I've been playing 25 years, and have never been in awe like this. I'm witnessing greatness. I'm both inspired and defeated at the same time. Absolutely beautiful. Can't wait to see compose your epic. Thank you my friend
This had: -Thump Henson -Djent Henson -Nylon Henson -Vocoder Henson -Good old NLND Henson and was all in a unified composition. I realize that's the point when advertising the archetype, but the fact that this is even possible is ridiculous.
I love this commercial as much as the next Polyphia fan, but he just played the same melody for 1:40 out of the 2:10, and threw in a vocoder solo in the middle. He just did variations on the same riff.
everything about this is so beautiful; the cinematography, the amp sims, the guitars, the tim henson, you forget it's an ad and it makes you want to cry
Of all the musicians out there, in a time when there are more musicians than ever, you Tim Henson, are NO typical examples. As a musician, you are outstanding in every way. I only quantify that with “as a musician”, because I only know that much of you. You blow my mine with your skill, talent, and artistic genius.
Thank you Tim Henson and all of you "kids" out there for bringing back the guitar as a focal point in music. Nothing wrong with synths and dance music, etc., but I've always loved the guitar. This plugin sounds great. (Something tells me that if I bought it, it would still just sound like me, a Gen X'er playing boomer bends.. lol ! ) Much love to all of you pushing guitar playing past boundaries!
Honestly ever since Tim has learned thumping, his compositions have gone to another level. When I first heard G.O.A.T. I was absolutely blown away, but this new style he's trying out is even more incredible. The funny thing is he did all of this for an ad, imagine what album 4 will look like!
@@matteopugnaloni6338 lol nah man, the longer they take the better quality it's gonna be. I'm hyped they're taking their time on it especially since it's gonna have 17 songs or something like that. Crazy.
This is a great Demo. I have a completely analog setup for Bass but I'm thinking of picking up the guitar again and I think I'm going to all digital for that as I can see and hear the amazing possibilities. Its great that Tim has made his personal plugin available to the public.
I'm a software engineer and a music lover and everything about this is perfect. The music, the UI of the plugin, the aesthetic. 😭🦋 (Also I need those cool amps IRL please).
I picked up this VST back on black friday, and I've been having a ton of fun with it. There's a ridiculously big amount of variety and tweaking you can do with it and it's amazingly fun to jam with!
He is comparable to Steve Vai. A musical genius so talented that he can play 10,000 notes in a song without ever having to subscribe to the idea that a song should have a melody.
@@GrayfinRois The melody of their songs are usually what you hear first, then the rest is the song. I hear beautiful harmonics, beautiful chord inversions, triads, little tricky things so Tim Hensonish haha
Im new to the game but this Tim Henson within 30 minutes got me feeling he is one of the top 15 guitar players in the history of man. Very nice work all the way around 👏
@@paragchaudhary8745 that’s a blanket term for sonic qualities having groupings defined enough to be an auditory aesthetic not just for baby girl Tim n the boys
“It’s in the hands” is an overused meme which is only partially true…except in this case where he’s constantly flexing on technique to the point where all of this is impossible without the intricate hand movements.
My lord. Well. As a boomer sittin around bending… What can I say. Instead of crying, I choose to just adore these elvish alien sounds and things-whatever I am looking at, I love it!-heck, I might just shed a tear for all the beauty the new generations bring!
I havent heard that many people talking about it so i just need to say that 1:00 gave me literal chills i listen to that part on a daily basis tbh its so amazing
Man, this stuff is cutting edge.. the mix of virtuoso playing and electronic music production.. this hybrid, layered sound.. like it's own language.. when I was watching this I actually lol'd cause it's that dope.. nervous system tweeked..
@@a.pro.crastinator7409 How is it unexpected? Ever since youtube released checkmarks by names every channel that has one has been spamming out comments as much as possible because it's free advertising from people like you who auto like every name with a checkmark to the top of the comment section
Two years ago when I stumbled upon you, sir, I hadn't picked up a guitar in ages. Thank you Tim for inspiring me to pick that bitch back up and grind through the hard parts of practice and the days you can't hit shit. Today I'm ripping through things I couldn't even imagine myself playing before I discovered Polyphia and your solo works!!
Clay is more likely to play a drill beat with his bass guitar and be skilled enough to make it sound better. If you really listen, everyone in that band is a hitter, the drummer Clay, the basist Clay, the rhythm guitarist Scott, and the riff/vocal/hook/bridge guitarist Tim. To be fair, Scott writes a fair amount of the riffs and bridges. And the Clay is the Larnell Lewis of this generation
Tim applied to Berklee and didn’t get in, immediately invalidating Berklee’s musical credentials. Berklee did what the kids call effing around and finding out
I mean, to be fair, Berkeley’s goal is to form working professional musicians, who’ll be able to learn and play perfectly 55 songs (maybe jazz, but the next gig might be rock, or country, or bossa nova or pop, or metal or gospel or folk) in two days with only an mp3, sight read on stages, know 200 jazz standards by heart and be able to improvise something that fits with anything. It’s a different skillet, you can’t go to school to learn how to invent your own style of music and guitar playing.
Yeah, dude. He's actually a genius, showing how much of what we are already used to can still be improved or at least changed (not saying he's the only person doing this, just saying he's one of them). Love his approach to the guitar playing, so artistic and beautiful, really one of a kind
Just a friendly reminder to not let Tim's greatness deter us regular players from reaching the best version of ourselves. We have our own unique styles to create yet. Edit: I made this post for those players who struggle with low self esteem or other ailments like depression. For those who haven't understood my point, Tim is not the greatest ever but he's damn good enough to make some people toss their instrument in the trash. Just wanted to brighten people's day with some positivity. Also thanks for the likes! 🥰
@@fourteen-vn9ir makes perfect sense.. cuz nobody asked and honestly, if you get underminded by someone who is “better” than you, then you should probably re-evaluate how you see yourself lol
I had to look this up after getting the ad bc I loved the song. Disappointed I can't listen to it on Spotify, so I'll just keep G.O.A.T. on repeat until we get more
This young man is just so awesome to watch. Taking guitar to the next level every single time he puts something out. Just inspiring. So happy he got his own archetype. Absolutely unique and incredibly talented musician. Makes me want to pick my guitar and become a better player.
It is I’m pretty sure. Idk if all his official songs are on there but I’ve heard the worst like a 1000 times. If you mean his solos then no. Only his official songs on Spotify.
